I really dislike experts with "ZERO" experience.
I wonder if he would be willing to buy my chest rig after tour.......for double the price so he can fit in at the range.
Unless your rig is xtra large, there's no way he'll be fitting in it, never mind fitting in at the range.....

TDC,
Clearing a stovepipe that way only works "effectively" on guns with a weaker or stock recoil spring. It saves you some time over the tap rack. Try it on a 1911 with brass pointing more forward and you can kiss your fingers good bye. It hurts like a SOB on the wrong gun with the brass pointing the wrong way![]()
Hell no! It makes things worst most of the time. What if the brass is chipped and get stuck in the chamber? What if you have sand up there?
Out of battery? Tap. Rack.
Period.
all magpul is advocating with thier training methods is "thinking", not blindly doing something just for the sake of doing it.... they think the problem thru and do the course of action that is neccesary to complete the task, no mre... no less.
seriously, you don't like thier methods then don't use them.... for people that train with them and use thier methods I am sure they work just fine. there is no need to be a robot and do things without thinking.
sure under stress, blah blah blah blah.... but people repeat the mantra "you fight the same way you train" so if you train to think and do things a different way then you "approve" of then so be it..... they will fight as they have been trained to do so, you fight your way.
whats so hard to understand.... there is no need to downplay one instructor over another, or one method over another... they all have thier good and bad points and it is up to YOU the student to use what works for you.
I agree 100%..... Anyone else care to support the slapping the slide method??
