Mannlichers....

Judging by the inletting, it once had a bigger diameter barrel in the stock. I guess someone could have gotten carried away trying to free float the barrel. It looks like it has never had iron sights on it’s barrel.

I hadn't noticed that...but yes, it seems to be free-floated, and if I am reading the photo correctly the receiver may be glass-bedded as well.

A Krico-made clone of the Brno 465, made 1954-63. Apparently the receivers were not Brno parts but were made by Pfaff, the German sewing machine makers. (Not so unusual, considering that Husqvarna is also a sewing machine company.)

I see one of these Krico-made Brno clones in .222 now for sale at Prophet River. Fullstock w/ DST.
However, it is expensive and is also listed as being a "single shot conversion," without any details.
(Not that a single shot conversion is necessarily a bad thing, but a further explanation is necessary and has been requested.)

Prophet River sent me these two pictures of the "single shot conversion" of that early fullstock Krico clone of the Brno 465. It appears to be just a block of wood glued into the magazine well and then stained black on the botom. I am thinking that the original owner lost the original magazine. I suppose the wood block would make it easier to load single rounds.
