Yes, the pre-War versions are by far fantastic. That is a very nice collection and every time I see something like this I long to have my small collection back.

Exceptional and thanks for sharing. I'm not sure of the date details but a friend has one in 30-06 with full wood. He's used it on a couple of hunts in central B.C. for Moose and for Deer & Elk in the east Kootneys.

Till you own one and operate one, you will never appreciate that these are the slickest bolt hunting rifles ever made period!!
I own am original 1903 6.5x54 MS carbine with a flip style Lyman peep sight, shot 3 old Dominion rounds from the bottom of a junk box and they clover leafed standing at 80 metre,s . It even amazed me! I hand load 160 Seirra's that shot sub minute , still waiting to take a whitetail or a moose one day, but the last 2 seasons have not been kind to me?

Gunrunner100 has the ###iest restocked 1903 carbine I have ever seen period!

Would loveto a close up view of the Lyman bolt peep if possible? Great rifles I'm jealous , :)

Cheers Dale

X2 on a best ever thread ! I would give a lot for one of those Lyman bolt peeps for mine, or that version that mounts on the bolt release.
Either one must be all but impossible to find now....
