Marihuana at Hunting Camp.

In hunting/camp situation, it's no different than alcohol. You wouldn't go hunting drunk, nor would you do it stoned.

In fact, if not smoked, the health risks for a normal healthy adult are almost zero. Can't say the same about Alcohol or Tobacco.
 
We had a couple guys in our waterfowling circle years ago that were chronic potheads. Couldn’t go a day without and usually getting high morning, noon and night. I quit hunting with them years ago and I no longer knowingly socialize with anyone who does use the stuff. But then I don’t hang out with drinkers either.
 
Haha, it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place as it sounds like he's a normal respectful person. I don't see a difference between a drink or two or a puff after the days work or hunt is over, it's pot ffs. Alcohol is more of a disruptive drug, you won't be loud obnoxious or hungover the next day if you have a big hoot. You'll just get the munchies and want to go to sleep early lol.
 
It's really not an issue , if you don't like the smell he says he will smoke outside, are there guys that smoke cigarettes in camp? Hide your snacks and bring extra food for him.

Guy I go hunting with drinks all hours of the day and is addicted to alcohol. Not really my scene and probably not going this year because of it. Does that make a prude -maybe in some people's eyes but my personal safety is what I value most. In terms of marijuana it would be the same. I wouldnt feel safe with someone always high all day same as I don't with a drunk. Partaking at night when hunting is done is cool.
 
If he consumes when not actively hunting, who gives a flying fiddler's fig?

Different strokes for different folks. I'm fine with burning a blunt or four in the evening. You have your brews and he can have his treats.

Can't we all get along? Not like he'll be hoovering rails of bolivian marching powder.

That's a stretch to say that if some one partakes in a marijuana cigarette while at a hunting camp that next they are going to start cooking crack and banging heroin.

Although not at the same levels, by any means; if you think I can't smell your booze from 10' away, you are mistaken. I like to stay away from folks with booze on their breath.

But to the OP's point, a few things. If there is a set group, certainly the dynamics and thoughts of the group are most important. Any intoxicant, used responsibly, in moderation, and with consideration should not be an issue. Even less if legalization actually happens. I think the general ettiquettes, if handled well, are more important than the substance.
 
I think it is very simple. You're at a hunting camp with guns bows or what ever and there may be other hunters out there. It's not a time to worry about some dumbass going out armed and intoxicated.

At night we have a couple of beers or some wine or some booze just like anybody else but nobody is getting trashed when we are there. We are having such a good time just being out of town away from work and daily life. How much more relaxed do you need to be?

There is absolutely no drugs or alcohol in my camp. Society of all walks of life can't do anything without booze or drugs....pity. If a person needed pot for a medicinal purpose, I would tell him to, "stay the f%*k at home"!

I may have two beers a year more like one though since I do not finish the bottle - never smoked in my life - can not chime in on what your to do at your camp - some think its okay since it's legal I do not buy that BS. Call me ignorant / out of touch / retarded not with the times your entitled to your own views. I for one do not want to be in range when someone is under the influence of any form of whatever you call it these days. Just my two cents - when they legalize it = wasted youth
 
I think it all boils back to what the group is comfortable with... then the individual needs to make their choice..

If everyone is doing shooters at 8am and rolling 20 joints for the day... then Im packing up and going home
If we get back at the end of the day, get #### cleaned up, break a few beers or whatever while cooking and someone lights a joint around the fire after... who cares...
 
I got no problem with cannabis

anyone here who drinks, even occasionally and has a problem with cannabis...... is a hypocrite

in fact, I'd rather have 10 friends that smoke weed than 1 that drinks alcohol and in my life, I have pretty much excluded the drinkers from my social circle,
