well, lets think of the logical reasons for this to have happened. Not to say it has to be a logical reason, but it would make more sense.
Fact: John has said that the new vz58's have been reclassed as prohibited.
Fact: John has previously said that the new vz58's have a different source of reciever than the previous ones.
Fact: Guns can't be prohibited "just because" and survive a legal challenge.
Fact: All recievers that were once full auto are always considered full auto, and prohibited.
Conjecture: John probably has a lot of money tied up in these guns and a legal challenge of an arbitrary ruling is likely.
Conjecture: Someone at the cfc/rcmp doesn't like all these "military style" rifles coming in, particularily cheap ones that are easily available on the open market.
Conclusion: Likely, someone at the cfc/rcmp either suspects that these guns are made from original full auto receivers, or has for other reasons alleged that these guns are made from original full auto recievers. If they are, they are prohibs. If they are not, they can probably waste a ****load of john's time and money, and try to play the game to make it too expensive and time consuming to fight him.
If, and only if, and when, we know that is the case, then is where we can come in. If the guns are legal and the cfc/rcmp is merely trying to squeeze john/marstar out, then the letters, phone calls, etc start.
Right now we know sfa and action would be pointless, and possibly damaging.
T97 we know so little about at this point there's no point even speculating on it.
