Mentoring

Anyone still in grey Bruce and interested?
Really interested in making sure I use my deer tag this year
Also interested in getting into coyote hunting and tagging along with someone who goes to saugeen shores club too.

For those members of CGN that are Alberta Residents, or are veterans regardless of residence (especially PPCLI) I offer entry level educationally focused hunts that are very reasonably priced. In an effort the combat poaching, promote the sport and the "Proper" way of doing things (on foot, off the roads and out of the trucks). Week long guided hunts start at $550 per man per week for Patricia's and a ton of information can be found at www.LaforceOutdoors.com. By the time our week is done you have enough tools and knowledge to chase your chosen species yourself and accelerate your own success and establishment. Elk, Moose, Deer, Bear, Wolf.... whatever you can get tags for your good to go for.

If someone in Southern Alberta could take me waterfowling it would be much appreciated. I have been trying to break into it for a couple of years but it is hard on your own.

I'll remember this for next season...too bad I'm out of vacation time this year.

Anyone here in NS going out for deer willing to show around a rookie? I'm being optimistic and would like to try stalking hunting (sitting in a blind doesn't really appeal to myself). I'm in the Halifax area but am willing to travel if need be.

New couple age 28 from Toronto. Just received hunting license this year, and started small game and waterfowl hunting in the east (Ottawa) and north (North Bay) area. Will probably get into big game (deer) in November. Would love to have a mentor or any fellows coming along.

Do you do rifle only or also bow earlier in the year for deer?
I've got my small game and can get a tag for buck but not sure how long 9r what week , etc
Cheers

Yea it is a great idea... I will be working with some older veteran outdoorsmen and young men and we will put them through some paces... First and foremost - survival, building a shelter, hunting gear, learning to know a hunting area, and firearms safety.

Highwind: What price and how often do you run it?
I'm in Bruce county and have done the hunters course and need to take turkey dvdbut mostly focused on deer

I have no trouble helping new hunters and have taken quite a few out from this site alone.....

But I have to ask you guys that are look if for mentors, why now?..... you just skipped half of the work that goes into a successful season are just now asking for help from seasoned hunters who are on the cusp of benefitting from their work?

I've been looking for the past year and a half
Everyone I know at work already has a group or family they are tight with and not keen to expand the group especially if it's family o ly
I'm OK with learning over the winter or spring for next season, whatever is available

Hi Everyone, Im new to CGN and reletively new to shooting as well ( about a year now). I am looking to get into hunting but am a complete newbie and don't come from a hunting back ground. Hoping to find someone in the Medicine Hat area who would be willing to take me on and show me the ropes. Im not to particular about what I would be learning to hunt at this point, but eager to learn the ins and outs of the sport in a responsible way. I have completed the the hunting program, have a valid WIN and could get any gear that might be needed to get started. If you would be interested in be a mentor to a mid 30's guy who is excited to learn, or if you can pass on any knoledge on where to get started drop me a line. Thanks in adavance

Want to learn how to field dress deer

Hey everyone,

Im looking to accompany (observe) someone on a hunt for deer however the experience I am really after is learning how to field dress a deer first hand. So if you are willing to have me along to watch your hard work come together by getting a deer, I would like to field dress your deer for you under your close instruction. I'm not interested in shooting a deer for now until I know how to field dress one properly on my own. I can watch youtube videos till I'm blue in the face but I need to do this first hand under an experienced hunters instruction before I do it myself alone. I have only done small game hunting so my experience is with hare and grouse and pheasant only. So if you dont want to get your hands dirty on your next hunt ;), send me a PM, I'm looking forward to learning from someone here.

Thanks in advance for the opportunity,
Dan
