Mossberg 500/590 Info

Loves/hates from the experienced crowd? It's the 18.5", bead sight, with and Insight L3 forend.
Should I get a +2 extension or keep her stock? Might look at Cerakote down the road and a folding stock so suggestions abound!

Personally I think it should have came with a longer mag tube from the factory, so the +2 extension was the first thing I put on my 18.5 590.

I have a brand new Model 500 USA Mossberg Shotgun. It is identical to the shotgun contract number DAAA09-92-C-0545 except for this number being stamped on the receiver.
It was made in 1996. Anyone know much about this limited edition?

Hi there, can't find a shop online that sells the Mossberg 590A1 compact in 14" barrel. I saw the posts back in 2014 when they were supplied by Ell's but nothing since then. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone had any experience mounting shell carriers on a 590A1 and what they found to be a good length or brand? I know Mesa Tactical and a few other manufacturers offer several different sizes, but it seems to me the 8 shell carrier would be rather long and possibly get in the way? Unfortunately because of where I live (far up north) I've not had any gun shops out here that carried any I could actually look at.

S&J Velcro and Shotgun Cards, I had nothing but issues with mesa tactical with retention, They just use a piece of rubber inside the mount. and if you are up north well that will probably freeze.

That it would on some winter days for sure. I didn't know actually about the S&J/Shotgun Cards. So basically you just slap on some high grade velcro onto the side of the receiver and you're good to go to slap em on?

Yes and our cards come with the high quality adisive velcro strip

looking for an adjustable length of pull stock for a mossberg (I think it was a persuader)
would like to take the girls out plinking but I dont want to turn them off shotguns with a bruised shoulder due to LOP
I dont really like pistol grip stocks and that is all I am seeing

I have a magpul 500 coming with the adjustable lop stock, they are spacers basically and you just keep adding or taking out spacers till it feels good, so a magpul supplier should be able to help you!

Like bobdbldr said , the Magpul one is about the best , you might also have a look at the ATI Akita Adjustable Stock , that one I haven't use , but looks like it'd work for what you want .

ATI makes an adjustable AR style stock with increments. Be careful not to give the girls too short of an LOP as the receiver might hit them in the face...

I like stocks which also feature a pistol grip as it gives you another measure of control. Not everyone likes them, there is usually a better cheekweld on the full stocks.

I haven't had the pleasure of test driving the Magpul setup, but I only seen good reviews on it.

Hi all, I am looking for a stealth - grey duracoat or something similar to paint my 590A1, so the colour will closely match the stealth - grey Magpul stock I put on it.
Does anything like that exist?

Just installed a MAGPUL SGA stock on a 590A1. Reduced the LOP from about 14.5'' to 12.25''- Standing at 5'8'' the new length make2s the gun easier to handle- havn't shot it yet tho. Install took about 10minute- average phillips screwdriver and a 1/2'' socket with a total extension reach of about 12'' is needed to remove the old stock, the new Magpul came with a screw and allenkey (wrench)

Not sure if this is the right section to ask this, or if it deserves its own thread. I bought my first shotgun a week ago, Mossberg 590 mariner edition. Put 50 shells through it on the weekend and I'm having an issue with extracting shells. Of those 50 rounds I'd guess 20 did not extract and I would have to reef on the forearm numerous times to eject the shell. It feels like the action lock is getting jammed up. Any suggestions?
