My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Ok so theres been no attempts on here lately so I figured I would post a couple from today.Not an official challenge as the rifle has done it already.Sure shows the differance in lot #'s.I'm down to 1 box of my best grouping centre X.I have two different bricks of centre X coming from PR plus an new Anschutz MPR.My CZ 455 wasn't liking it today with RWS pistol match.

Hopefully with the right ammo, a bipod and better stock. I can get this MK2 on the list.
Anything I'm missing, any pointers ?

This rifle REALLY likes a cold barrel, best groups where after LONG wait times letting the barrel cool.

Good shooting, grauhanen. 58 yds getting cocky! That's a squeaker. What optic on that rig. Was nice to get out today as the weather has been great. Usually it's 37c by now in Kelowna and too hot to get out. No flyers either, I always seem to get one with sk std plus.

Thanks. My club's shooting range has a 25 yard range that measures over 28 yards, while it's posted 50 yard range is a measured 58 yards, which I've measured it several times to confirm. (The club built a wooden building from which to shoot after the range itself was established. The building was, I imagine, set back from the original shooting line.) The scope is a Hawke Airmax 30 SF 8-32x50. It's long and heavy and suits a long and heavy rifle like the KKM. I got the rifle earlier this year and was having a devil-of-a-time figuring out how to hold it. Yesterday I learned that it prefers to be held very little: a very light cheek weld only and just touch the exquisite trigger. I expect to improve the results with this rifle as it's one of the sweetest shooting .22LR's that I've ever had the pleasure of using.

Well, after burning through a couple bricks of SK Standard and Rifle match with my Remington 597 success was just not to be had. I wasn't willing to use any of my limited supply of higher grade ammo which is reserved for other rifles. My best attempt groups: 0.852, 0.678, 0.869, 0.417, 0.239. Average = 0.611". If I were to re-barrel it may do better but from what I see in the stock barrel with my bore scope this is probably as good as it gets for now. Respectable shooting for a stock semi-auto sporter nonetheless.

Nice shootin' Rabid! There's hope for me yet. Going to be a couple of weeks before the new scope arrives and I'm hoping the VQ hammer arrives on Monday. Then I need more ammo.....

I finally was able to get this completed. Five groups at 60 meters ( we do not have a 50 meter position on the rifle range) shot at Sharon gun club this morning. Close but not quite good enough, I think my lower right target spoiled it.

The rifle is an Anschutz MPR with a Bushnell Elite 4200 8 x 32 scope (72 year old eyes need lots of magnification). Ammunition is SK Std +

The rest is a Caldwell BR with a Protector front & rear bag.

I am intrigued by the attachment under the fore arm of the MPR. It's width looks good for giving additional stability. How did you fasten it on the accessory rail, what did you use? Can you provide some details? Thanks.

It is really nothing special, just a piece of 1/2 x 2 1/2 X 9" hardwood that I tried to stain to match the stock & coated with Flecto aerosol low gloss.

I drilled & countersunk holes to match the holes holding the rail & used slightly longer screws. This allows removal of the plate without doing any damage to the rifle.

It looks somewhat low tech but it works for me.

Perhaps they are more foulers to prepare a clean bore for the ammo; the results from the other bulls look fine.

Not worth doing it shot like that without a cleaning has about 900 +rounds through it since last cleaning.Have only cleaned it with a few pull through patches don't think it is worth anything else in the cleaning dept shoots ok. Has about 3000 rounds total I am going to clean it when it starts to open the groups more but for a CZ for under 400.00 out of the box it shoots good enough for me.

Really not worth anything but when we both settle down this scout does shoot.
Also done yesterday most are 10 shot groups.Will drill gophers all day long.
Wasn't really trying just shootin for fun.Isn't that what it is all about??

Nice shooting ronnie01! I'm sure you'll be able to repeat that performance on a single piece of paper with ease.

I attempted it yesterday and failed miserably. There was little wind and it was hot, used cheap ammo, as it's all my 452 varmint has ever been fed, but I think I'll have to pony up some dough for some of the better offerings out there and see what it likes. Had some American Eagle 40gr LRN, CCI Standard 40grLRN and some MiniMag 36gr CPHP. With both CCI varieties I managed two out of five that were just under .5". The other 3 groups of each were between .5 and .9. The A.E. shot really well, except for the random shot every fourth or fifth round that was either under-powered or over-powered, very much lacking consistency. I will prevail though!
