My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

After seeing Rod B.'s target today my mission was to put the Leupold BR 36 back onto the BSA Martini.

The First target was a success measuring.322, .358, .424, .395 and .234 for an average of 0.3466

Discovering I had covered the measurement of the poorest group a second shot was taken.

I used the last of a box of Eley TENEX and the last group was shot using MATCH.

Then I shot another series using a variety of match ammo (CenterX, R50, Federal Ultra Match, and EDGE). Thinking I had blown one group some other ammo was shot on the page. Measured the five groups later with the following results: .364, .307, .329, .430, .444 averaged: 0.374

The second picture is the first target but taken so as to show the groups and measurements. Hard to get the actual smallest group lined up and keep the tail of the tool from being a block.

Nice shooting Manitou210. I see that you used a Mueller 8-32 scope. That's at least the second one to be used successfully in the past few months. They're not bad for what many consider "Asia-made garbage". For those who can't afford a more costly scope, they are a very effective alternative.

Now that all of the Eley TENEX is shot off the search was on for something to replace it. Eley TEAM within the relative velocity of the TENEX, two lots of CenterX, R50 and Federal Ultra Match.
Shifted the scope on the Remington 40XB to hit at 100 yards.
Eley TEAM: 0.95; CenterX (326 mps) 0.517; and 329 mps 1.34.
Switched to RWS R50 and Federal UM shot in order of Upper left, upper right, Lower right and lower left without cleaning . . .

Re-sighted to 50 yards and the R50 appeared to be better than the Federal but I think the next match will be shot with Eley MATCH at 1064 fps.

I have chronographed some in the past but the figures published is a box reference.
When testing some listed at 1063 the velocity averaged 9 fps slower and one listed at 1062 was within 1.0 fps.
Consistency in velocity isn't everything . . . it is the only thing!
Even CCI MiniMags give great accuracy when velocity varies less that 10 fps.

Hard to beat center x for the price point. I shot 6 group's with my mpr yesterday ammo testing. Only center x and new sk std shot challenge worthy groups. Midas was a huge disappointment. I couldn't get the UM to shoot consistent. I too shot a dirty barrel and no cleaning between.

Guard your SK/Lapua ammo.. It's hard to get right now. Hirsch is pretty much out of anything even vaguely affordable at the moment. No Std Plus, no Center X, no Rifle Match, no Magazine. I think they have Midas and X-Act.
Lots of Eley from the looks of it. I have enough Std. Plus to last a while, might try some Eley in the meantime.
I like buying from Peter @ Hirsch, heck of a nice guy. Plus he's less than an hour drive from home :)

Peter Krause told me that there would be no SK available until sometime next year as there was some damage in the factory where it is produced.

Yes he said a liquid primer ingredient that they use was unavailable. I did manage to find 2 more bricks of center x.

Got er done yesterday. Re read the rules after my first post. Sorry about that.
