My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

What does that have to do with the accomplishment?

Do you add that comment about all the other shooters who have had their names added to the list?
Did anyone make that comment about your groups?
You did not make that comment when my name has been added.

"dryfire" is an accomplished shooter. He has competed against "F" class shooters in the past and on occasion beaten them shooting his .22 rimfire against center fire rifles.

Also note the five targets were shot at 50 metres versus 50 yards.
What was the significance of "hand held" for what else would it be?
After you wrote a great article on the weekend your comments on this site your sour grapes appears to be an attempt to diminish dry fire's accomplishment!

A question was asked if anyone had done it with open sights, or handheld. He just answered the question.

I have no reason to doubt dryfire is the accomplished shooter you say he is. I said nothing to the contrary. I only said that there wasn't anything to suggest his results were hand held. If they were accomplished without a bench and bench equipment, then they would be even more noteworthy than many shooters might imagine. Such an accomplishment would be quite extraordinary for this thread. If you believe dryfire's remarkable results were handheld, please elaborate. I've made mistakes in the past and don't mind apologizing if I'm wrong because it's the appropriate and courteous thing to do.

I read handheld as meaning offhand/unsupported.
I'm not sure if I will ever make this list with my new MTR, but it's sure nice to see people make it with the exact same setup I have.

My idea of hand held is off hand, no sand bags or rests. I guess you could say it is hand held on sand bags, opens up a whole can of worms.

Completing the challenge offhand, no support would be a big deal. Off a 1 point sling, I would think would be very doable for anyone that's competed in smallbore or large bore TR (DCRA or Olymipic) competitions.

I'm sorry you're still waiting. This is surely not the place if you feel I owe you an apology for something. If it's relevant let everyone know.

You're right, it's not relevant to shooting the challenge offhand. A discussion should be had, though probably best kept off the forums.

Today was a great day for shooting !

Made the challenge with the Feinwerkbau.
It was the second time I was shooting this rifle.
Haven't even tuned the action screws yet so it have great potential to not say the least.
Last week, I did some ammo testing and it likes Lapua Center-X.
The trigger is just wow, even better than my Walther...

The rifle is a ( German ) Feinwerkbau Modell 2000.
Lapua Center-X ammo.
Mystic Precision bipod and a cheap rear bag.
Bausch & Lomb 36x scope.

Groups :
1- .144″
2- .336″
3- .347″
4- .225″
5- .369″

Average : .285″

Nice shooting. I added you to the successful list in post #3

A little off track but I shot a 600 - 42X at 100 yards yesterday with my Remington 40XBR.
Remington ELEY Match off a rest and a Leupold 45 x 45 Competition scope.

It did not post right away so now is the second target

I'm getting back in to rimfire this winter. I have a couple of questions about the challenge.

1. Can you use a bipod instead of a front rest?
2. Can you shoot prone instead of off a bench? The benches suck at the 50m indoor range I'm a member of, shooting prone is much better.

Yes, and yes. Good luck.

Spent a nice afternoon, this past Monday, with my single-shot Izhmash CM-2 at the Kamloops 50m range. I’ve been trying to figure out what ammo it likes for some time. This target was shot with Eley Club. Not exactly Earth-shaking, but very consistent

Rifle (all original):

· CM-2 action with unknown rounds through it
· Carbon wrapped barrel 27.8” long
· Single stage trigger set to 7.5 oz pull
· Original bedded factory stock (someone before me carved out the check-piece, probably for use with aperture sights)

Other equiment:

· Mystic Precision bipod
· 8-32*56 Sightron III scope
· Protektor rear bag

Range: Kamloops KTSA – 50m

Groups (CTC) with Eley Club
0.403"
0.399”
0.434”
0.374”
0.415”

Avg: 0.405"
SD: 0.022"

Photos don't seem to load from google, imgur, or dropbox (all I get now is a series of little blue icons with question marks). This worked just fine a few months ago and I've read and re-read the picture posting sticky several times, nothing seems to have changed. Here are links to the pictures:
