A story about a 180B.

All canadian 180B owners certainly owe their pimp roots to Armedsask, he was a pioneer in modding the 180 but rather than follow his footsteps 180B into a picasso. - haha a friendly dig at Alberta's good neighbor with cheap vehicle insurance! - thats why when we separate your comin with us!

so I have probably read every post on this site, and now its time to have some fun of my own, I didn't really feel like posting pics of a stock 180 but now that I have some optics I feel its worthwhile. and create a frankenstein I am making small steps in turning my AR-

heres how my story of the day goes:

around 8:00 pm FRIDAY -> After a few shots of tequila I got this funny idea I was a gunsmith (and make this post for those astute enough to view the date), I had just plugged in my new 240 V construction heater in my garage and was cleaning up my muskeg slayin quad when I saw that gleaiming hacksaw hanging from the wall.

Earlier that day I purchased some new optics aka a scope.

Upon leaving the store with my scope and MEDIUM rings I was destined to mount my scope that very night. To my dismay the scope would not mount any way feasible without hitting the cool assed rear sight.

This is where the hacksaw came in - and my pictures!, so as you will see my precision gunsmitihing skills have started with an error factor of +/- 1/8 of an inch, not bad for a noob gunsmith right?

anyhow my pics tell the rest of the story

here is my tailor work - I cut a hole in my gun case

here is my precision gunsmithing ... now I need to epoxy some material to keep ONE of the flips on my rear site with this config

here are some of the finished result photos

Oh yeah and Throttle Monkey .... you can spank your MONKEY at the RANGE with your AR-15 - soon my 180 will be your envy - lol

hope you guys like the pics - more to come If I can get that new rail sys or a new stock

Good job reducing the value of that AR180B from $1100 to $0 in order to mount a $50 scope...... it could have been resolved by a $20 set of high rings.........
Mommy forget to give you the Ritalin this morning? Seriously the dummest thing I have ever seen...........

ughhh my head hurts.... wheres my new scope ? j/k

thx for all your great comments. - the ones who don't see humor haha for wasting your life making a post. we are on this earth for a very short time - lighten up.

actually most of the tequila shooters were done AFTER I redneckerized my rear sights, for the sake of the story it covered my screw up better :D,

many people have actually removed the rear sight completely - I doubt their guns have gun to $0 value :) , I am more proud I had the courage actually try to shave the sight.

try and succeed or try and fail. I'd say I quasi succeeded - with a little epoxy I'll have a nice low profile setup with my rear sight.

which one should I keep? 0-200 or 0-100, I only have space for one flip.

Good intentions, but poor thinking. I am not a gunsmith, that is why I only shoot them and clean them; anything beyond that is done by someone who actually KNOWS guns. What you did is sabotage.

Don't be so hard on him guys. Its not like he ####ed any of the action or vitals of the gun.

if you guys can't confidently perform minor modifications to a firearm you shouldn't even own a gun. god forbid anyone takes any initiative and tries something on their own.

Nope, but instead of relizing that he needed higher rings ( go back the next day and get some ) He takes a hacksaw to the rear sight.

This might have been acceptable on a $400 or less firearm (no less a crime) but, to see something worth that much be mutilated for no reason is just hard on the eyes. Plus, the rear site block is more or less part of the upper reciver since it's welded on. Not to easy to find a replacement and/or affix it to the rifle if you ever want it back. I worked/saved my ass off to be able to afford a AR180B, if I got drunk and did that to my rifle, it think I'd actually cry.

PS: Why hasn't Armedsask posted here yet? Maybe someone told him about this already and he can bring himself to open the Thred and see the Horror. Happy Halloween.
