My factory hunting rifle shoots between .5"-.75" all day! Really? Prove it!

Great thread and congrats to the guys who posted targets already! Nice to see some activity to date. Can't wait to get to the range, however it won't be until the end of February.

That's great. Sounds like a real shooter.

This ol girl surprises the hell out of me every time. I heard they were quite accurate for an old budget hunting rifle, and after picking one up, I am a believer. Hornady 165 grain interlock BTSP factory loads are bang on.

I came close doing some load development fro my R700 in .223 I didn't have my callipers so I hope onTarget counts I'll try again and make sure to bring them along.

Is .75" asking to much? I don't want it to be so easy that it isn't a challenge. That is why I figured that 3 shots under .75" would be a possible but challenging goal.

Tagged for interest, but that is a very accurate hunting rifle and shooter to beat the challenge. I still have the target rifle challenge umm, to challenge, but make more of a day out of it and try the hunting rig as well.

Does the rifle have to be entirely stock from the factory? No bipod, freefloating/bedding? Just factory stock, barrel and whatever handload works best, and shoot it off a sandbag? Regardless, this likely will prove more difficult than the target rifle challenge but still fun. Another good reason to practice with the hunting rifle: Something that should be done anyway, why not make a fun game out of it?

Cool thread!
alot automatically callin 'out' as per regs...Good on the blokes giving it a go!

I will give my Sako .222 a crack in the week... dont laugh!
I hunt my rifles an all the +.24 cals are not guna shoot MOA... esp 3,4,5 times in a row :) but they kill animals fine.
