As promised, I finally got a chance to hit the range. It was raining a bit but was still okay to put up a target & blast away.

I took the 5X5 shot groups as requested on the forum & would like to share it with you all. Although, my shots didn't match up to my last two 5 shot groups which I posted by error a while ago, without reading the forum rule properly. I think I did alright considering it was raining, a bit cold & what not.
Please note that, I wasn't able to write the measurement for the groups because, by the time I finished the shots, the rain has soaked the target paper to the point that a simple poke of a pain would have tore it to pieces. The caliber info written on top of the target paper was done prior to posting the target.
I only managed to do a digital caliper reading of one of my groups, which I thought looked alright. However, upon reviewing the pic, I realized that I may not have measrued the group properly. But it's hard to get a good measurement while holding a camera & caliper in the rain.

The ammo once again was Federal Sierra Match King BTHP 168 gr. & the gun was Tik-Tac .308 heavy barrel. The shots were taken from a bench rest with a bipod & a rest bag for the stock for support.

I hope that this will clarify the situation for what seems liek an incomplete report.

I know that this isn't going to make the guys that shoot at 100 meters happy, but all groups posted must be under .75" not .75 moa.

Whoops, forgot to mention that. .308, and yes, I'm compensating for the 100m.

That makes more sense.

Now you have me wanting to check my last go around because I also shoot at 100m. All I have a is GPS for a range finder when my buddies aren't around with their fancy toys. Didn't think it made that much difference but I guess ~9yards does.

See my post about all group sizes must be under .75" whether or not you shoot at 100 yards or meters. I know it sucks for the 100 meter guys.

Understood.

I was just wondering how he got his measurements when the caliper readings and marked MOA were way off based on an assumed .308. Still a little off, but much closer considering the 100yard conversion which is fine.
 
From what I gather, tadosan doesn't have his target anymore so he can't measure it. Is it possible for anyone to use OnTarget and measure his groups?

thank you very much for taking the time in helping out on the measurement. I do appreciate it.
It seems like the last 5th group shot didn't measure up to the thread's requirement. But all in all, considering this is my first try, I am happy with the outcome.

Guys like you makes this event more exciting & would sure look forward to get involved in future scenarios.

By the way, were you using "On Target Precision Calculator"?

Before I dig it out of the back of the safe, does an unmodified factory Rem 700 LTR in 308 fit this category? It is similar to the Rem VLS except with 20" fluted barrel.

Bolted the scope on my LTR after not shooting it for several years and and made my first attempt after a half-assed zero...just starting to remember the "hold" and think you may get to see a pic of the rifle before too long. Shot at 100M

First day above 0C in a while so I decided to get out and try.
The rifle is a Savage 10FP-223, stock barrel and action, in an XLR chassis wearing a Sightron SIII8-32x56.
My goal was to keep it under .5" and despite the flyer in group 4 that was totally my fault, I'm still happy.

A stellar attempt JEC. Nice work.

I shot steel today at 700 yards. Lots to learn with wind reading but today was a great day for it.
