I tried a couple bungie cords today to keep the gong from swinging and have something to transfer the energy to. We beat it up today at 340 yards with some 150g fmj .308 and some .223. Stood up nicely and did not fall over. The bungies held real well too minimal markings on them. Next time I go out I will probably hit it closer and see how it does.

I went to a bit heavier chain, made a steeper angle for the 12" spikes to go through the legs (back legs)into the ground, and bungee'd (a real word?) the gong.
about 30 rounds at 200 meters with .308 and 20 rounds with .223 today...........................no face-plants.

At Tool Town trailer safety chains are on sale. For $5 you get 24" of 5/16 chain with a good sized hook. They work great for hanging targets.

Picked up a Canadian Flag for car windows from Dollarrama today. It fits into the carrying handle on my adjustable leg CT stand the bigger one in post 83 here perfectly! I'll post a pic of my setup next time i'm out.
