This is what my target stands are made of. They are cheap, portable and quick to set up. I set mine up in 35 seconds for the picture.
All the parts can be bought from any hardware store but mine came from home Home Depot
Parts You will need
4-1/2" pipe t's
2-1/2"x close nipples you will need 6 if your 45s aren't threaded
2- 1/2" 45's
2-1/2x3 nipples
5-1/2"x5' sticks of rebar. Home Depot sells the pre cut coated ones in 3,4 and 5' lengths and they all work but I like a longer top bar.
I used rubber mat cut in to strips bolted on.
Steel targets are from jcsteel targets in the states, 3/8s ar500 is plenty for what I shoot.
A bad iPhone shot of the bracket.
And another bad iPhone shot of it set up in 35 seconds.
Light steel plates shot with heavy hitting billets have tipped my 3' set up over but I've never had any problems with the set up shown.
