NEA/BCL 102 FAQ Thread

Phase 5 Tactical 308 EBR V2 does not work,,I had to try it but it would take some extensive modifications to fit cleanly and work properly.

Also what would i need for a buffer/spring/receiver extension to run an ubr stock?

ODGin the mid 70's for serial #

Damn it!!! I was really hoping the phase 5308 EBR V2 would work! I already have one in my parts bin! Any pics of how far out it is? Did you try a magpul bad lever?

You'll have to measure the length (or has it been already mentioned) of your lower receiver extension. UBR Gen I is carbine length, UBR Gen 2 is A5 length. I imagine either could be run with a JP Silent Capture Spring System.

I should mention that the UBR stocks come with their own proprietary receiver extention tube. So length inside the extension would be the only concern.

I am sure most of you who bought these know this but thought I would just add it to the list for compatible parts.

Installed a Timney 3Lb #667-S Small Pin trigger today. Dropped in just fine.

Will check it for function at the range tomorrow.

I gave up on polishing the factory trigger and wanted the first outing to be with no excuses.

No pictures but i should've taken some!

The angled ramp piece of the EBR is too wide and hits the interior of the upper reciever, you can't pin the upper and lower together when they try to mate and doesn't allow the release to function up or down.

You'd have to cut the ramp back a good 1/4" and match the angle of the stock release, also on the exterior the paddle hits the upper but that's likely from the ramp to reciever contact on the inside. The tab on the EBR is very narrow aswell and the IMI mag just kinda pushed it to the side instead of pushing up on it so that made me leary if it'd even lock up 100%

No BAD lever to try as the ACR has a wicked bolt release going for it lol

Also i just finished installing the Hiperfire Eclipse trigger, it has a little quirk i'm sure is fine but i'd like to bring it up if anybody else has knowledge on Hiperfire triggers...

With the hammer uncocked i cannot flip the switch from safe to fire unless i rack the bolt. With it cocked i can go from safe to fire all i want bolt open or closed. I have to seperate the upper and lower to flip back from fire to safe with the hammer uncocked and cannot rack the bolt with the hammer uncocked and safety selector on safe.

Safety selector is also tight when going from safe to fire or vice versa with the receivers split and hammer uncocked, when cocked and closed the safety spins smoothly

That's an AR, safety only functions when the rifle is charged.

Bad lever dose not fit on the 102. upper is angled behind the bolt release. I put mine on but the bolt release is partly engaged causing the bolt to slightly hang. I will try and modify the back side of the bad lever to gain clearance.

I am going to attempt a handguard (and barrel nut) swap on the rifle thanks to SSG69. I still don't have the rifle in hand, but should have it later this week or early next week. I forget what type of barrel nut wrench the stock handgaurd will need but hopefully I have one that will fit. I will take some photos of the barrel extension/barrel etc if I can get the barrel nut off.

Does anyone know if the receivers are anodized before Cerakote or is the Cerakote applied on the bare aluminum?

She is indeed Armalite threaded, I have confirmed it. The barrel nut is two-piece in case you get confused looking at it like I did.
