Am I dumb or is your sling on wrong?
I suppose the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Revival!
Finally got my Soccom cleaned up after about a month of waiting. Everything looks really good, front sight is centered, everything seems to be mostly aligned, bolt lug contact is good. I have found three function issues though:
- Mags require a solid smack to get out, sounds like this is pretty common. Should I try filing down either the mag release or the block on the back of the mag that the release catches or should I just put them in and take them out a bunch of times in hopes that things will loosen up a bit?
- Windage knob does not seem to want to budge, any tricks around that?
- Safety will not stay in the "on" position. It seems to travel far enough and functions if I hold it in position while trying to pull the trigger but will not stay there on its own. It also only moves with the hammer cocked and will barely budge if I try to go from "fire" to "safe" after pulling the trigger before pulling the bolt back.
The first two issues don't bother me too much assuming I can get it sighted in however the safety not functioning does worry me a little bit. Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated.

...Same with the safety. It does sound like you are trying to activate the safety without the hammer being cocked. The safety can only be used when the rifle is ready to fire...
Go have a read in the battle rifle section there was a tread indicating were to file the mag relese to fix the problem. Mine works like a charm now !
I just got my Socom out of the box and cleaned up as I haven't had time to tackle it until now. The front site is twisted to the right. I'm not at all familiar with gunsmithing but I assume this is an indexing problem and I don't have the tools (or knowledge) I need to adjust it. Does anyone know of a gunsmith in the Halifax area that could correct this for me?
Not just the inspector with the crooked neck ...some of the workers too .
ALOT of problems with my replacement Socom , good thing I love these rifles and can fix it myself .
Too bad they keep making the same mistakes while assembling these .
I just received a replacement gas locking ring as this is a pic of my last one.

You have to put the top at 90 degrees with the vertical black board, the smaller hole should not touch the board, it should have a larger gap between the board and the smaller hole... JP.
