My pair of Whelen’s are a walnut/blued Hawkeye and this 77 RS. I had forgot about this little project, and it looks like I left it half done. If you look close, something’s missing…View attachment 1045729
Yeah, the 9.3 is very tempting, but I’m already emotionally attached to the Whelen. Have enough 35 cal bullets to last my lifetime. That said, this looks like the perfect rifle. Could sell off all my 35s and move on to 9.3. lolIf it was in 35 Whelen I would have jumped on it, the 9.3 is cool just not my cup of tea.
Sure is!Is that a McMillan? Love the look of Rugers in those stocks
ruger whelan in the ee right nowIf it was in 35 Whelen I would have jumped on it, the 9.3 is cool just not my cup of tea.
With Ruger, I can’t imagine so.Barrel is meant to be free floated?
I'm in a similar boat. Had a couple different 7600s I moved to new homes. Currently have a Ruger M77 and just added this one, this past week.I have sold a few 35 Whelens in the search for the perfect one. I currently run a semi custom kimber in the 35 Whelen. I have had 4 rifles chambered in it I think.
at 20yds they were hitting about 4" low.Wolf, how low do the iron sights aim?
I love the layout of that unit & the chambering as well. I'd be extra horny fer one in 375 Raptor though if Hornady & Ruger would get off
If you look through this thread there are a few guys that are not totally impressed.Anyone have the 9.3 and not happy with it? Like to hear feedback on the fit and finish, accuracy. On the wait list like everyone else. Checking Guns International as well.
Shooting low seems to be a common theme: ( shooting starts at the 8:20 mark)The Iron sights also shoot quite low even at 20yds.
