Mine arrived last week and is great. One thing to point out though is that the slide recess for the slide release was ROUGH. So much so that the slide would not drop.

I stoned it smooth and now the slide release works perfectly. the offending surface is on the inside of the slide and not visible with the gun assembled.

The safety was also VERY rough. I lubed it with lubriplate and actuated it 500 times - much better now. Same for the trigger. I dry-fired it 400 times (used a tuft of leather to isolate the hammer from the firing pin) and the trigger smoothed up considerably.

FWIW 9X18 is proving to be a PITA. Even a basic case trimmer is $100+ not to mention I can't even find dies. Looks like I am stuck buying loaded ammo for ridiculous prices. By reloading standards at least...

Just get a Lyman case trimmer and a standard 9mm pilot. Cheaper than special trim dies and just as effective. Good for MANY brass conversions and trim jobs.

At that price I wouldn't bother with cutting 9x19 brass down. Let us know if it works out.

Got a quote... not exactly what I've expected.

$180 per 1000 STARLINE 9mm MAKAROV (9x18) brass
and
$140 per 1000 9x18 Jacketed Round Nose 95 gr bullets. ETA 4 weeks.

Got the mak Sweet!

It is abit rough but nothing I cant fix with older cold war mak parts ;) hey for $400 I will not complain :D "I find it funny the russian QC is worse then the Soviet lol"

Its going to be like my nork M14, starts out rough and ends ###y.

Many new spare parts from soviet time Makarovs are available on Russian EE forum. They are quite cheap. To bad Russian customs won't allow them out of the country (if caught in the mail). I've tried with Dragunov stock and forend, customs returned them to the sender as not allowed items...now they are collecting the dust in my Moscow friend closet.

I am interested in both to make up some "premium" type ammo. In the meantime Berry's plated bullets and cut down 9mm brass is going to make for some very cheap plinking ammo:).

If that site doesn't ship outside of the states. What the heck are we suppose to do? :(

I can import them in bulk. The kit would look something like this basicaly all parts minus barrel, slide, and frame:

Question, do you guys need it? or not realy?

I just want afew parts I think Gunpartscorp and ebay will do

A safety would be nice too. Steel mag plates are a huge one as well. The slide catch on the guns now works, but the military ones are much better made.

I was using Fiocchi factory ammunition. No the gun didn't blow up but failed to fire on the 3rd shot. I am uploading the pics at the moment. I'll post the grouping as well. (I got my temp att to the post office within 15mins) XD

Looks like the slide stop failed...? Odd. Almost as though one of the rounds was over-powered.

Glad you are OK.

FWIW, it looks like a new slide stop might repair it.
