Hey guys we`ve finally got some news from the factory today. Unfortunately due to the relatively small size of the Canadian civilian market the Type 81 production has been pushed back in favour of larger and more immediate military orders. The new delivery is scheduled for this winter.

We understand that this is very frustrating. We`ve tried everything we can to make delivery happen on time, the exporter even visited the factory practically begging and even offered to triple our order out of their pocket to no avail. Relatively small orders for Canadian civilians are simply lower priority than large government orders, especially for a state arms factory and not a private company.

This is quite hard on us, we know many of you are very excited about this rifle, and we hate to see our customers disappointed, even feeling cheated. We`ve always based our business on doing the right thing and making our customers happy, never leaving anyone feeling upset or unsatisfied. We feel we`ve broken the trust of many existing and new customers due to these delays.

Due to the potential for situations like this we really hate doing pre-orders, but because of the immense demand for these rifles it is the only way we can ensure that anyone that wants a T81 will be able to get one when they arrive. We figure this to be better than panic buying, 2-3 year waiting lists and NIB Type 81`s selling on the equipment exchange for $2k+.

We at Tactical Imports sincerely apologise for the delay and hope we can remain in good standing with you as a company. We will continue to do everything we can to make sure delivery happens as soon as possible. Once the shipment arrives we`ll have the orders sent out promptly, anyone that placed an order online will receive an email with their tracking information as soon as it is sent out.

I totally understand. How about refund us some preorder money? I am not asking too much, 50% back is good enough for me, and we will be very happy.

Quick question TI. Have you been given an idea when production may begin? Seems funny that less than a month ago we were on schedule for Q3 delivery only to find out we don't even have a Q3 production start.

Well TI said they had been given a delivery date, but planned a Q3 delivery to build in some breathing room for delays. With that the date came and went some time ago and now we are in overtime. Now that overtime is pushed back.

Think the problem here is TI thinks an update is only when positive news is available. There has been many updates they could have given but chose to simply say they had no info. They find out their production start doesn't happen, that's an update. They are told the rifles will not go into production on schedule, hey that's another update. They don't visit the factory as they said they would, once again that is an update. This whole production has been done in a very shady way, I asked a few months ago about their intention to visit production once it began and it was ignored. There is no way they haven't been given a new date for production to begin, if they haven't it definitely isn't going to happen this year.

Here's some business advice, stop pretending you are the victim TI and start telling people the truth. You know the date they have given to you for production, if you don't and have given them a deposit you need to hire better people. People who gave you money will appreciate the truth rather then another runaround(winter really now your just saying a season?)

I think everyone here would appreciate to know what is going on even if it isn't good news, this mean every time you call for an update which should be everyday if you really already paid for the rifles.

A simple called today they are saying the production queue will be caught up by the end of the month would work. Give actual dates, let us know who you talked to not by name but by title(owner, manager, production manager, couldn't get past reception)

I have done and still do business with china and have never been left in the dark in fact they provided me with too many updates.

I find it hard to believe the firearm business is so different.

Tell me what date they gave you to catch up on this order? If they didn't give you a date get on the phone or email and get one. When did you give the deposit? If it hasn't happened, when will you give it to them? There is so much info you can give to us and for some reason choose not to.

everytime i seen this thread BTT in the recent threads i was a little hype for the canadian gun owners to have a new toy available here and i hoped EVERYTIME that they would be finally arrived for you guys.

Now this.

How can you take pre-orders for some guns that doesn't even exists(available) yet? I would understand if they were about to shipped from China to Canada...... but no we are far from there. I remember when i was lurking the cz 958.. CZ had something better(military orders) to do if i remember correctly..

People in Canada are hyped for new guns because of the stupid prohibited variant list..

IMO that's not how you do business T.I .. I might purchase from you someday but not under these circumstances....

good luck people.

Yes I brought that up in my post (#880). What I'm asking is if they have a new production start date. Pretty disappointed I even have to ask that considering I was expecting them to be on a boat by now or soon. Since they were told production has been bumped, they must have asked for, or was given an estimate on the new production start date. I would be shocked if they didn't request such information.

I'd be just as shocked.

Just called and asked for a refund, and to cancel my order. Employee was helpful and processed my request, saying I should receive an email and have the funds credited shortly. Im done waiting around, my itch for a new toy is too great to endure the wait.

Or, was that update not needed?

You did what you felt needed to be done. I'm sure you're not the only one.
