NON Restricted Colt Ar in .22lr

OK... I've seen the Squires and as you say they don't look like anything really, so you're probably right. But I doubt anything on the AP 74 is interchangeable either. Even the flash hider is a different thread size.It would be good to get a non restricted all colt AR looking plinker but my gut feeling is it won't happen. All they have to see is black and a funny front sight and the rest is history. Cheers

Hi there Easy, my (pos, but I love it) armi jagger .22 is restricted so those squires might be too. That transfer took over a year!

Is that the god awful horrid looking thing in the middle? It looks like it was painted with nail polish!!

No it's the top one. Just kidding! Someone needs to tell the CFC the same thing. It isn't an AR. ARs dont shoot.22. It shoots good but you need a powerful round to cycle it plus lots of CLP over everything. Then its foolproof lol

What did it cost you? when did you buy it?
Now I'm curious, a 22LR rifle that looks like an AR but doesn't use any of the same internals I take it?

Looking at the reciever I see pins in different places than the standard AR.

The wait times for IF these (or any of those other wonders - GSG5, KelTec RFB, now these) come in are generally long, if they survive the import process, and if they do, does the pricing change?

Actually, the Armi Jagger isn't such a bad gun.

The Squire Binghams 1600 are a completely different animal than the Armi Jagger. NONE of the SB parts are common to, or interchangeable with the AR15/M16 family.

I am sure that the Squ. Bings are non-restricted.

I know this from my involvement in a criminal melee where someone with a POL had his firearms removed from him and his Sq. B. was in someone elses possesion when confiscated and there would have been more charges applied if this gun was indeed a restricted firearm.

This can also be confirmed by someone with access to the FRT database. A verifier for instance.

I sold a Sq. Bing model 16 not to long ago.....they are in fact non restricted. They are like any lakefield .22, dressed up with cheap 1 piece wood furniture. definetly no charging handle!!

Sorry, but Yes, AR shoot .22 LR with a Colt or Ciener conversion unit. On top of it they are .22 caliber !!! :)

Yes you're right but with a conversion installed, and I'm sure you won't be shooting .22 if you were to head off to War either. If it was .22 you sure couldn't stick a .223 in it. The only good thing is the non restricted mag capacity and I think the AP holds 10 shots. As far as I know there are no interchageable parts with a real AR
So theres the point, they all get grouped into the AR category by look alone and hence "R". I think the AP74(pic) was around $250 used then I still had to find a mag. It was a real mess with the CFC as they didn't have clue as to what it was. They actually had it down as a pistol. And when I see that there might be an M4 type .22 with 16" or less length barrel I can see restricted all over these new imports.

If these were to be relisted as restricted would the no limit magazine rule for rimfire still apply? Related: does it apply to rimfire pistols?

We are so unsure about the delivery and status of these guns that we won't take any pre- orders. Our web site is updated weekly but if these are for sure on the way I will post that info as soon as I know. Phil.

What about having one on hold?

Funny how they all (meaning retailers) run around going 'Look at this, Look at this' ....But then say... "Errrr, Well.....we don't actually know if it's non-restricted, when it is coming.....or even how much....."

sorry.. I just find it strange...........
