Norinco JW-15A Compact Hiker New Arrival

Hi Original - In case you're checking this thread, the new JW magazines are indeed 9 rounds. The exterior dimensions are original 10 round size, but if you take them apart (the bottom metal slides off....be careful though), there's a plastic spacer there that takes up the space of 1 round. Who know if it was done for a certain market, or done to get higher spring pressure?

I have a newer 24" JW15 and like it a lot. However, the magazines are very rough inside and not built to spec. They need some file work on the inside for the follower to work properly and rounds to feed properly too. A couple I had even had uneven feed lips. Ended up returning a couple of really bad ones.

If you don't enjoy trying to make the things work, CZ452-455-457 mags work perfectly. Everytime.
What's the accuracy like on the long barrel JW15? I've got another 13" coming but I'm intrigued by the JW15 too. Tenda had them for $231 yesterday.

Arcosdad: I started a thread with a short review of the 24" barrel JW15 here in the rimfire section. I find it's pretty good. I shot some 5-round groups at 100m, got two 1 5/8" groups and none larger than 2" ( I think that was with SK Std+). I have shot several 1/2" 5-shot groups at 50 as well. So there's some promise there.

It's a shame they don't make one with a 16.5" to 18" heavy barrel with attention to bore quality. If they could keep it under $350 or so, they'd probably sell plenty of them.

Nice to see these back, Had one for well over a decade, Probably 15 years or so, Its sported about 4-5 different stocks in its time, Trigger is so light I almost don't like it for shooting gophers.
