Norinco NS522 build: NEW MAG RELEASE

ok I dont know if it was the windy day, or ammo, or scope or the shooting position, or what, but mine shot like crap at 50 yards on my 1st range trip what are the conditions you guys are shooting in? I havent done any mods yet, just cleaned out the grease

-10 and a bit breezy, I just shot 6 rounds at about 65 yards with just a front bipod to sight in a Bushnell 3200 3-9x40 (I prefer atleast 16x for target shooting, just had this scope sitting on my computer desk) the target below were my next 18 shots that the rifle has taken outa the box(my magazine holds 6 rounds so why not) Rem Target, Win T22 match, and Eley Practice.

Can't wait to find me 1 of those 92fs springs for the trigger! as I could feel myself 'pulling' high and right which definitely shows up on the target...

just measured them
rem was .811
win t22 0.766
eley was 0.696

again, this was the first 24 shots I've taken with it... and the first time I've actually shot any targets since the fall. and you can see I really pulled the last 2 shots of each high 'and/or' right
I bet I can halve those sizes if I put my Burris 4-18 on it, find a new trigger spring and get a 'real' rear bag instead of a few winter mitts.

but don't ask me to shoot 'off hand' as I won't be able to hit the side of a barn...

Standard dove tail. Any non Weaver rimfire ring will work just fine.

I had some cheap spare airgun rings 'Sun Optics' 9.5-13mm dovetail Medium=40-44mm objective.. seem to work fine.
model # SM5015 1" Med adj, 9.5-13mm

If I didn't have those on my desk I would have "ebay'd" some for a couple bucks...

So, I am here to help. Anyone in need of aid just PM me and I will help you in any way I can. Dont be nervous with any of the mods I have done. We can figure them out together.

What spring did you end up using in your final trigger mod?

Oh my.

This is a rather tough and difficult question to answer easily.

Due to my offhand/ Silouhette needs, I have to stick to a 2lbs trigger, so even though I have achieved a WAY lower weight I am unable to utilize it for offhand..

You know?

I'm looking for something around 1.5 - 2 pounds pull as my goal. Any suggestions would be great. I love what you've done and I'm planning on modifying mine similar along the lines of what you've done.

Thanx

Well,

Thank you. I have had a blast turning my Eggroll into a sharpshooter.

PM me your addy and I will send you a spring.

Or,

Send me your trigger group and I will make it scary light.

Up to you.

I would love a spring if you have any extras left. Just let me know what you need for it. I'm starting to recover to the point that I can start my 522 project next week.Already have the 4/40 set screws, nuts and tap. Mine will likely be used strictly for target so if there is a way to go super light with the trigger that would work as well. I'm looking at alternative magazines to use in these and will post if it works.

Thanks Scott.
