Any suggestions where to get a low profile sight, probably an aimpoint clone or something, here in Canada, other than eBay.

Also, I have a Bushnell Sportview 1.5-4.5x with long eye relief on my 10/22, works great on that, but i was wondering if I could find something similar, but higher quality and with wider field of view.

My first idea for the 97 would be to mount an Eotech clone on it, but sounds like its gonna sit awfully high...

try Fabsports.

Put a millet DMS 1-4x or a bushnell red-dot on it if you dont want to spend to much.
Dont bother wasting you money on a clone. especaily the eotech clones the're garbage.

Not entirely correct. They do not have absolute power over goods entering our country.

They can delay and take a long time to do things, but when it comes to firearms, they are not "experts" and cannot make a decision whether or not to let the firearms into the country.

It is an act of Parliament that decides that. In the Criminal Code are lists of firearms that are prohibited from entry into Canada. If the firearm is not on that list and the correct paperwork is done, the customs agents do not have the power to deny entry. They cannot make up the law as they see fit any more than an RCMP officer can decide that 50km/hr is too fast for town and he thinks he'll start giving tickets to anyone going 40 km/hr or more. These Type-97s are not on the prohibited list, we're fine. (The only reason they can deny entry is if the paperwork is not in order or the crates are not disinfected before shipping etc...things that Norinco would have had to take care of on their end. They are an international dealer, I'm sure they did the job on their end.)

So, while it might take them a long time to verify contents and paperwork, it should still only be a matter of time. Don't worry, the individual CBSA employee does not have the authority to deny our guns entry. He/She may not know the intricacies of firearms law, but that doesn't matter, their decision is still made based on the written law and policy.

INCORRECT. Everyone so far!

CBSA has the RIGHT and the POWER to "inspect" any shipment for up to thirty days - at which point, correspondance MUST be made with the importer and a conclusive decision, either permitting the import (with lots of yellow CBSA tape to seal the box back up), or a letter explaining the denied import, with steps to appeal the decision if you so choose to go that route.

Case in point: My level 3 soft armour. Held up in customs for EXACTLY thirty days. Then mysteriously released, of course, with all the yellow tape. No explanation, just a sudden appearance on my doorstep. A friend in the link told me this is going to be the norm from now on (due to criminals buying their own soft armour - same source who also told me importing plates will be prohibited within the next year or so.)

I've lost touch on this post, for awhile guys if you could get me up to speed, SO I dont have to go through every post.
I had the money taken or charged on the visa about a week or two ago, soooo what does that mean also if it helps make sense I ordered July or August.
Thanks guys!

All rifles have arrived and have been shipped, excepting yours of course. (The penalty for losing touch with the official thread.)

No refund and no rifle for you!

Rumours has it that the "assault glove" will not be available as part of this shipment... so what are the chance we could exchange it for a launcher?

The other thing I just cottoned on to...the Type 97 (lever has this in restricted) has a vertical fore-grip...the Type 97A (Canam) only has the rear pistol grip and a horizontal fore-grip...might have to buy a piece of rail and a vertical fore-grip too...
