Norinco Type 97 FAQ (small update 01/04/09)

Something to do over the holiday...

OK, seems like the T97A "situation" is getting a little press coverage...
(must be a slow news day!)

So I'm thinking... if it's a slow news day for articles, it must also be a slow news day for letters...

So why not ALL of us send a quick note to the editor, saying that we are still waiting for ours T97A to show up... and we are all willing to put up a fight!

I'm sure a few hundred letters would get their attention: Letters@globeandmail.com

Wow excellent posting. Very informative.
I can greatly admire the T97 now and provided that it does not become a banned gun shortly. I'd like to get one.
What price range are they in for a non restricted version?

Also my 2 cents worth on the 6000 round service life.....
Now this is just speculation and logic but I think the service life was obtained through the PRC's military testing where they probably took a new gun and just kept feeding it continuously until a failure occurred. (Fired too destruction). Because we use our guns more reserved and clean them after a day at the range they would last a lot longer. Also our copper jacketed bullets vs. Copper plated steel jacket FMJ PRC ammo probably extends barrel life.

I love how the RCMP said in a briefing note to Mr. Vic Toews...

“Potentially, it could take years before the matter is finally resolved and the firearms are surrendered or seized.

The RCMP are kinda "jumping" the gun on that one aren't they? Who says these guns WILL have to be surrendered OR that they WILL have the authority to seize them? HELL, the owners may just get to KEEP them & others, LIKE ME, WILL buy one the minute this gets resolved IN OUR FAVOR!!!

Cheers
