North Eastern Arms VZ/CZ Railed Handguard and Muzzle Brake (with pics!)

I received my new version NEA rail today. I was pleased with the previous model but the new one is even better.

The finish is top notch, as close to parkerized as I've ever seen on aluminum, and the fit is much tighter. The rail is a bit lower and it gives a solid bottom third co-witness with my Bushnell TRS-25.

One thing to watch for is that the ball detent for the pin is not captive. If you pull the pin out of the rail you can lose the ball and spring through the pin hole. I found the ball but had to make an new spring out of a pen spring.

Now, a trip to the range tomorrow is in order.

Currently sold is the three. I have had no issues with it either. The finish was a little shinny compared to 4 but I painted my three anyway so it didn't matter.

Wow... :S

...FYI;

I removed the spring and keeper from the stock upper. Works a "little" better. Perhaps a better design would be a lengthwise channel cut in the pin like AR takedown pins.

I have a Watson Extended Takedown pin on order to try this out. I'll have to open the hole up a size or two, but I think it'll be a solution.

..Maybe something to look a for future versions.. ?

More pics please of rifles with latest revision and optics installed... side views and through the sight views.

The height and price are right, no idea how it will stand up, yet. I couldn't get the camera in the same place as my eye, but with the sights at the 300m setting it gives about a lower 1/3 co-witness and the irons are just usable at the 100m setting.

Any update on this sight (Bushnell TRS-25)? Good, bad, or otherwise. I've got a NEA rail that will hopefully be here tomorrow and could use a decent sight. :)

Thanks for the update...now if I could just find one. The stores I have checked are sold out. :(

Just bought one from Wholesale Sport of Canada last week.
Waiting for my NEA top handguard to show up from Wolverine so I can mount it and try it out.
