Correct... it actually applies specifically to the S&W Part# mentioned in my original post.
The Black Dog 50 round drum magazine for the S&W M&P 15-22 is NOT affected by this ruling.

Well then this is not as bad as I thought!
I wonder what CSSA is going to do????
Doesn't it come down to which was manufactured first? It shouldn't matter to Canadian Law how REM advertises either of the two firearms.
If the LAR pistol mags were approved for use in a rifle as 10 shot magazines, (10 shot only because restricted rifles are limited to 10), doesn't the reverse of that stand to reason allowing unlimited rimfire ammunition capacity in a pistol?
I mean, if the 15-22 rifle was manufactured first and as the law stands now, rimfire rifles are allowed to have unlimited magazine capacity, shouldn't that same capacity be acceptable in the 15-22P, or any other pistol that magazine would fit? ... and not just 25 rounds, but UNLIMITED.
I say the RCMP dropped the ball on this one and and should be called on it.
(10 shot only because restricted rifles are limited to 10)...... ?
Not sure what you mean by this. Magazines designed and manufactured for automatic centrefire longarms are limited to 5 rounds, magazines designed and manufactured for pistols are limited to 10 rounds.
S&W (not Rem) sell three magazines for use in their 15-22 rifle and pistol: a short 10, a 25 blocked to 10 and a 25. The law is clear. Pistol magazines are limited to 10 rounds, and according to the manufacturer these are all pistol magazines.
Just wait until they (CFO's of each province, RCMP, Toronto Police) "check" the registry to see who has these guns registered to them, then they show up at your door to see if you have the now prohib magazine. If you do, they will be confiscating all your guns. THIS is how far they will be let go. It saddens me to say it but this is how it will go. Innocent people will be turned into criminals overnight, loose all their guns, with no recourse. But remember, registration does not lead to confiscation. We as good law abiding Canadians will just be forced to bend over and take it.

So why can't we all stand together and just not comply? F**K them. I bought it like this and I'm keeping it the way I bought it!
We really need to take a stand!
Can we start a thread to see how many people will be willing to NOT comply?
, that might constitute a thread promoting unlawful activity....f**kING f**k !
It's bad enough that my MP15/22 is a POS that jams all the f**king time , but now I have to neuter the mags?
f**k!
.....You say the law is clear as it states pistol mags are limited to 10 shots. The AR15 was limited to 5 shots until it was passed that 10 shot LAR mags could be used because they were made for a pistol AR. Well, the S&W 25 rounders were made for a rifle and just so happen to fit the pistol.
Can the drum mags still be used in the pistol? Or are they just legal in the rifles.
After all, certain 40 caliber mags fit in a 9mm pistols and hold more than 10 rounds and that's legal. So the 10 shot limit with pistols is really not limited to 10 shots. There are exceptions. This should be another.
I have one, and I have a few extra mags........

If they come knocking on my door, there will be something on the news..........
