Canada post says that application was recieved and signed for Sept 8; how long before it shows up on the website?

Did someone phone you yet and references? If your application didn't fall off the table, you should be getting called any time now.

I got a call a couple weeks ago so did my references.

Took a week or so but it was noted as being received earlier than when it showed up on the website.

wooohooo I just checked my status and I should have my PAL soon

Application Received on: 2009/08/13

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

To add to this long topic, I'll include my own experience:

Aug. 06/09: Application for PAL/RPAL mailed X-Press Post to Mirimichi
Aug. 11/09: Received and signed for according to Canada Post website
Aug. 21/09: Finally shows up on CFC site as Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.
Aug. 26/09: See my CC has been charged for the $80 license fee
Sept. 11/09: Receive phone interview from RCMP. Check with my references and they were both called within minutes of my own call.

So far it has been moving much quicker than I anticipated! Just checked the CFC site now, it's still in the "in progress" stage, but I assume they have a few more things to do before it gets updated. According to my math, the quote-unquote 28 day waiting period should be Sept. 18th, unless they work it off of when I mailed it off or when they received it...

In any case it's exciting to have been called today and everything checked out fine. Now I'm wondering what happens next...this is torture! :D

Mine was received on Aug. 27 and I just received a call from CFC yesterday for an interview. I have asked them if they have called up my references, they advised me to tell my references to call them. I hope this won't reach a max. of 45 days.

WOOO!! mine has arrived...so thats the end of the first step...now the club I was going to join isnt accepting new members till january..CFC says they wont give me an ATT till I can prove an approved range membership...the waiting continues

I just called the CFC today and my license has been approved! Just have to wait till the end of my 28 days, which happens to be this friday.

Going to call the BC CFO tomorrow and just double confirm with their office and make sure that once 28 days hits, that my license is in the mail. Hell, I'll drive OUT there and pick it up if I have to!!

Good on you bro, I got mine about 3 weeks ago. I was told it may take 3 months due to hunting season backlog but all was complete in about a month give-or-take.

Now I just gotta figure out all this ATT stuff  (I'm getting there)

Silvercore has a gun club you can join and will help you fill in the Long Term ATT. I highly recommend it.

That is if you live in BC.

Hell ya! exactly 29 days from the time it arrived in their system until it was issued...now just have to wait for slow ass Canada Post :(

PAL/RPAL progress

The only real hold-up (excuse the phrasing) for mine was a screw-up with the payment.

I had sent in the form, about three weeks after completing the course. I had put dashes between the groups of numbers on my credit card. About two weeks, after mailing, I received a letter in the mail explaining that there was a payment problem. I phoned the Centre and spoke with an agent, we straightened out the card number issue and he said they would begin processing right away

The website said "in process" within a couple of days. The card arrived about 4 weeks later. There were no calls to any references. :)

Sent in the info for ATT, and now to shopping in earnest. :dancingbanana::cheers:

Was your application for an RPAL? Because AFAIK RPAL apps require references to be called as well as yourself.

My second reference just called CFO and testified for me. It's the 27th day tomorrow.
Is the next step just to wait for an application update online or give them a call tomorrow?
btw, this is for an RPAL

My suggestion would be to call on your 29th day...it doesn't hurt and the people are generally quite nice. Just be nice to them too!

I called and confirmed on my 29th day that the application had gone through and my license had, indeed, been issued. That day I checked online and sure enough the site had been updated to reflect that.
