PAL "in progress"

I got my envelope from the RCMP yesterday. Boy was I happy to see it. I rip it open: NO CARD!!!! :mad:WTF? The letter says that my license is attached.

So I take a step back and look at the paper (I have a printing background, so I know that some mechanical errors can occur when attaching the card to the paper), it turns out theres no glue on the sheet, so the card was never there. I phoned the CFC and explained the problem. The will reprint a new card within 2 business days, and send by mail.

...In the meantime, I have my license number!

Can I whine a little?... Well, they called one of my refs a week ago and still didn't contact a second ref... Waiting is killing me. If they do not call my second ref till the end of the week, Monday I will call them first thing in the morning. I have two rifles on order! I can't wait until they decide to issue my license. I need it NOW!!!

*crying out loud* :(

^ get your reference to call in. just give your reference person the phone number, the numbers to punch when they hear the menus, and your application number.

Guys, I just got my card yesterday! Yay!

My process went as such:
From the date I mailed my app in (Apr 16th) to when it was acknowledged was about 2 weeks. I that time, the licensing fees were withdrawn from my credit card.
On May 7th, my references were called and I did my RCMP phone interview. On May 18th the license was issued.
On May 19th it was mailed.
On May 27th, I got it in my hot little hands!
Today I start shopping!

I did! :) And here is the result:

"Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued."

I'm the same as you pretty much. I gave my personal reference after I'd given a reference for a friend. They didn't even call my references and issued my license exactly 28 days after they had got it. Woohoo!

Anyone have any idea how long it might take for the "CFO review"? Mine has been there for over a week ...

Call them and ask if there is any missing information on your file. Me thinks it's phishy to take so long. May be your application just "got forgotten". Remind them that you still would like to have those licence. ;)

I didn't call them once for my RPAL and it took exactly 28 days for mine as well. Some of us are just lucky I guess:D

My hubby just called! My licence has arrived! One more gunnut status has been officially established!

The process for my RPAL/PAL was as following:

Shipped app with courses prove attached to Miromichi on April 20, 2010
Online - April 26, 2010.
I called CFO On May 17 to check the status and passed the phone interview.
First ref was called on May 21, 2010.
Second ref was contacted twice but since he did not have his name clearly identified on his voice mail - they did not leave the message on his machine.
I called CFO on May 27 to ask why second ref wasn't contacted. They asked if the ref can call them back. My ref called CFO and was interviewed on May 28.
Licence was issued on May 29.
Licence arrived today, June 7! :)

Ok, now. I have three firearms waiting for me to pick up! All paid for. Just need to be transfered on my name! Great feeling of finally have firearms of my own! :)
