PAL "in progress"

I just checked on line and my licence has been issued!! :)

For me it took exactly 28 days to get the papers back from the CFO(I'm in Southern Ontario btw). Once the CFC got the applications, my, as well has my references were interviewed on day 11( I called them right after I had mine to make sure they pick up the phone because it comes up as an unknown number). Today is day 28 and my licence has been issued.

My wife had her interview on day 10. She mentioned that she was surprised to hear from them so quickly. She was told at this time there is no backlog slowing them down.

Now I just have to wait to get it in the mail.

So if your instructor mails in your test results, and then the CFO mails them back to you, is that included in the 28 day waiting period or is it 28 days from the time the CFC receives the application?

We were told it can take up to four weeks for the CFO to send back the stamped test results. Then it's another minimum 28 days from when the CFC gets your application.

Let the waiting game begin

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Myself and my references received phone call from a very nice lady today. They are working pretty fast. Hoping to receive my card soon:)

For those that are waiting for licence in the mail or coming close to the day. Enjoy! Hope you'll get it before Xmas and be able to shoot too.

I started all this in April and I just started shooting my restricteds recently. I joined two clubs. I'm shooting as much as I can get it out of my system.

Did the RPAL. I was called along with my references Nov 10. My one reference didn't return the call until the 22nd. Now I patiently wait...

Yeah, I'm also surprised (pleasantly) at how quick the RCMP are. I expected a bit of an ordeal, but my application got there on the 20th, my references and I have been contacted, so I think now it might just be the waiting game for the minimum 28 days...

PAL RPAL recieved oct 13 still waiting. App is sitting with local firearms officer (due to a divorce, and apparently they dont like some of my aquaintances) keep calling and he is nice and says he will review it right away, but it never happens given this excuse 4 times now in three weeks????? very frustrating.

Dear God it's even WORSE than waiting for the girlfriend's pregnancy test to develop! I mean... errr... ;)

Interview by phone with the RCMP bright and early this morning and my references have been contacted as well, just under a week from when they received my application. Pleasantly surprised so far.
