PAL "in progress"

I called today to inquire on the status of the application and they told me that they tried contacting my second reference, but could not get a hold of him. I had my reference call in right away and it was approved on the spot. :dancingbanana:
Finally received it today!!! It took 7 business days to find its way through the mail system.

Call'd in again this morning to see if they could confirm delivery.

After giving the Info needed I got told again it can take up to 3 Weeks to have you entered into the System.

Yep. Same here - but only 2 weeks to process is what she told me. They apparently will not go and check if it's been delivered. (Although I have the Canada Post confirmation with the name of who signed for it.)

What I was wondering is: does the 2 weeks it's sitting there in a bin - does that count towards your 28 days? Do they get stamped on the date received and then when they are entered it is as of that date? Or is it the date they open the envelope to process it?

In due process. Passed with 84%. Not bad considering I read the books about 2 months ago.

Savage 350 Shotgun and Ruger 10/22 are going to be my first purchases.

Took exactly 29 days for mine. Would have been done in 28 but the 28th day fell on a Sunday. PAL was issued on Monday, received in the mail the following Wednesday.

Upgraded from a POL to RPAL.

Mailed: April 5th
Received: April 7th
In System: April 14th
Interviews with references and myself: April 23th
Completed and mailed: April 26th
Received: May 3rd

Yes, stamped when received and that starts the 28 day clock. But you should call them again. A different clerk may give you a different response.

Application Received on: 2009/10/30

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

They called me and both my references, this is for both R/PAL. I'm in Alberta.

I still haven't got it yet :kickInTheNuts:

As of last Friday:

Application Received on: 2010/04/16

Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

I wasn't contacted. My references weren't contacted. I never called them to speed it up. It took 29 days from the time they received it. Awesome!

when I got my minors license, it took about 3 months... and no references were called

when I got my RPAL my references were called and it took about 30 days from the day they received it :)

A week after Miramichi received my application its up on the website already! That's pretty quick considering some of us are waiting up to three weeks for that.

I hope the expediency continues.

Just called down there again today, after last week they told me to have my references call in. They basically double checked everything was good to go and told me it should be in my grubby little hands in about 2 weeks. The trick is to call them.

They have had my RPAL application for 22 business days now and both my references have been called as well as myself. Hopefully not too much longer... Come on!!! Let me buy GUNS!

I know the feeling! I just got my license last week.

I was told by two people it should take "a couple days" once the references were called....took two weeks minus a day. I'm just mentioning that so you're not standing at the mailbox feeling disappointed every day for the next week or so. (But hopefully it'll come sooner for you!)
