PAL Wait Time

My application was received in miramichi on July 6th, do you guys have any idea on a potential wait time? No red flags, or criminal record at all, just a provincial traffic violation. Also located in Alberta if it helps.
Thanks in advance.

If there's no problems with your application and your record's clean you may be looking at your CC getting charged the end of October and license issued in the middle of November, based on what others are currently reporting.

BC newbie, new application for RPAL received June 6, began initial processing a couple weeks ago (late September), approved Oct. 6, currently waiting to receive it in the mail.

Was it an upgrade or new application all together? I'm just behind you. Sent in RPAL / PAL
Application received June 15
Cc charged/initial processing on Sept 18
Still waiting for an update since....
BC applicant

Sent my pal application from alberta june 1st , received on the 4th. Cc was charged sept 16. Any idea, how long I have to wait. Online status, since sept 16; Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Just an FYI for anyone:
I called up on Friday for an update after having my credit card charged on Sept 18. They indicated that the cost for the application has gone up by $1.32 and that amount was still owing on my account.

The timing of this seemed odd and they said they couldn't recharge the same card again (apparently they black out all that info after the first charge, good thing I suppose). So I had to authorize another payment for the difference.

Glad I called cause this may have hung things up. Does anyone else know anything about this?

Per the application form (info sheet 3):

Effective March 31, 2019
Non-restricted $60 Restricted or prohibited $80

Effective March 31, 2020
Non-restricted $61.32 Restricted or prohibited $81.76

Sounds like you applied for just non-restricted which went up $1.32 on March 31, 2020.

Did you use a copy of last year's application when you applied?

Thanks that must be exactly what happened. I had mostly filled out the application before end of March but didn't mail til June. They must have updated it in between.

I called them today to get an update on an eta as i am still waiting on my cc to be charged etc. They received my application July 17. The lady was vague on how far behind they are, but did tell me to call back in a week. Hopefully, that means they are in to July now, or by n/w.

1st post;
Thank you for this opportunity.
Today I received a reply to a request for tracking my applications sent in mid July.
It stated:
"The Central Processing Site in Miramichi, NB is currently processing and scanning new PAL applications from June 23, 2020. Due to this backlog, I would advise Mr. L to contact our office in 4-6 weeks to inquire on the status of his application.
We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter."

This long delay adds unnecessary inconvenience for those who choose to pursue legal avenues for owning fire arms in Canada (which is a privilege).

That being said, PAL certificate is worth the wait!!!

Hey quick question, I mailed my RPAL/PAL application on June 23 (Do not know when or if they have recieved it) and my Credit Card has yet to be charged. Was wondering where they are at for charging credit cards and when I might get my PAL number soon?

They should working on yours soon, they are just finishing up the first couple of weeks of June, also depends on your background/province.
