There are a couple possibilities, one being that the QA is terrible, and while some guns are decent, some very serious flaws are going undetected. Another possibility is that some owners are not overly observant, and they are not seeing flaws that are present in the guns. I have seen some firearms in terrible condition, because all that the owners cared, was that they went bang when the trigger was pulled.
 
If anyone wants an extra 40$ off there black over under WSS is offering 40$ back as they sent everyone the Pardus "L" model instead of the the "S" model as advertised. From Pardus's website no real differences between the two

I never understood that part. Any time I've ordered from any other company, if they are going to give you a refund, they just go ahead and do it. The first time I got an email asking for the middle number of my CC I immediately thought it was a scam. They had my number to charge me, they shouldn't need to ask for the numbers that don't show up on a receipt.
 
Just got mine today. It is a Pardus S model. Silver receiver and 26" barrel even though I ordered the black 28" barrel. There is a couple issues with the finish on the wood. For starters it looks like it was bumped around a bit after is was finished and it also looks as though some type of glue may have spilled on the stock. it's a small spot, but noticeable. The engraving on the receiver looks more like it been buffed up to give it a satin look and there is no doubt it will show wear in 20 years. I actually wish I had gotten the black receiver after seeing the engraving first hand, but it's not terrible. Now for the good. The wood looks very good aside from the less than great finishing. The gun went together very well and feels solid. the triggers are real decent and nothing with the action seems stiff. The barrel selector/safety slides easily and the trigger although a bit stiff is fine as far as I'm concerned. The blue on the barrel seems even. It's quite black rather than a nice shiny blue. I put a couple rounds through it and am very satisfied with it. It will be great for the wife and kids to blast clays on the back forty with it.

I may post some pics later if anyone is interested.

Got mine this week. I've never owned an O/U before so I have nothing to compare it to but the fit and finish seem decent. The wood quality is not junk and whatever gloss they used makes it look nice. After a quick rub down, chamber and barrel clean it seems ready to go. The 'break latch' (?) seems a tad stiff but again I don't know how easy it is supposed to feel. Will take it to trap soonest. Also I availed myself of the $40 offer because they shipped me the L as well.
 
Here is a pic of the receiver on mine. I don't know if the engraving has been buffed or if that's the finish after the laser cuts it. I know the Pardus website says the engraving is hand done but I doubt that very much. That could just mean the gun was set up by hand and the machine turned on by hand. But yes, the receiver itself is a matte finish which is not uncommon.

My SL came in the mail at the beginning of the week. My buddy and I took it out and put 130 rounds of target shot through it without issue. Definitely worth it for 260 dollars.
 
I tried my Pardus L O/U this weekend. The safety with the O and S configuration took some figuring out but I shot about 10 shells of target and a couple goose loads without any issue. Closing the action is a bit stiff and the latch needs some work.
 
I got one of the CL's. I took it out yesterday and put some rounds through it. Three different kinds, winchester AA, some really old black arrow that I've had for over 25 years, and some french brand I've never heard of that belonged to my Grandfather that are probably 40yrs old. It cycled everything, no problems at all.It actually seemed to kick less than my weatherby 20 gauge. Longevity remains to be seen, but I don't use shotguns a lot, so I figured for me this was a smokin' deal and so far, I'm happy that I took the chance on these.

I have the Pardus SS in 12 gauge and Pardus SL in 20 gauge. Test fired both with no problems using Winchester universal 12 ga. and Challenger target 20 ga. shells.
Only 2 things I noticed was the 12 ga. choke wrench had to be filed down a little to fit in the notches of the full choke tube, and the sling swivels for the fore stocks are not threaded, so I will have to drill and tap these to install them in the fore stock caps. Minor when you consider that I paid half price for these shotguns.
 
The SL uses a recoil spring in the stock, single action arm that fits in a recess on the bolt/carrier, the bolt lug locks more towards the rear, and the action resembles a Beretta 390. It uses a fiber optic front sight.

The SS uses a recoil spring on the magazine tube, dual action arms that are one with the bolt carrier, the bolt uses a lug that engages further towards the front, and the charging handle is smooth and uses a completely different connection style. It uses a bead front sight.

Stock, finish, trigger groups are pretty similar. The gas system used on both are pretty much the same, but my 12g SS and 20g SL came with a hole in the gas cylinder towards the rear while the 12g SL did not. Potentially to relieve pressure, but so far back that I can hardly see the point. There are a few other minor differences like the style of black finish on the magazine caps.

Given the hand finishing on the bolt lug engagement surface and bolt raising surfaces, it seems those pieces were hand fitted.
 
Can finally report on how things went. I gambled and ordered the 20ga SL and had a chance to get it out to the range today. It was straight out of the box, didn't clean, grease or oil anything as i wanted to see how it would run how it was delivered.

It cycled federal hunting loads, remington gun club and a few random unmarked singles i had rolling around without any hiccups all were 2-3/4". The recoil is very mild on this gun, even for a 20ga and is nice and light.

The only trouble i had was when i got into a box of challenger target loads. I believe this is an ammo problem more than anything, but they were failing to eject. The challengers seemed to really stick in the chamber and the extractor would pull it back about 1/4 of the way and then pop off the rim. When this happened it was even a little tough to pull them out sometimes with my fingernail. This would happen with about 2 out of 3 of the challengers, but if i swapped back to any of the other brands, they all ran fine. I don't know if this is common with challenger ammo, i haven't really used it much. I may try polishing the chamber a little and see if it helps, or just avoid the challengers.

The fit of the stock and such is about the same as adriel showed in his videos. I noticed on the WSS website when ordering it showed rifled sights for the 20ga SL, but the one i got has a rib and bead on the 26" barrel.

My 20g SL had the rib and fiber optic bead as well. I ran 2 boxes of Federal 20 gauge target loads as well as a few slugs through it, no issues. I'll see if I can find some Challenger to try.

They were the yellow hulled Challenger Sporting. I've seen the blue challengers before as well, but didn't have any on hand to try out.
