Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

Are you sure 01? Unertl scopes did not come with 2 digit serial numbers, not the ones for the USMC, the FBI or the Canadian forces, all were 4 Digit serial numbers and were marked specifically for them.

I don't remember exactely what was the serial set up But everything had the original number that finish with serial number one.And confirmed that they were original since it use to belongs the guy in charge of the program for the CF.......
About 5 min with these rifle before they were put in a Pelican case and shipped to US.If I knew that day that I was going to manipulate such rifles......yes pictures....That was in 2001......

Doing some babysitting.....

My friend asked me to look after his old C3.
It's custom made with a C-5 barrel, a Mauser 98 action and is chambered in .30-06
Bit of a weird duck but here's some pics,

And NO....it's not for sale:)

Very nice project Rob. I really like the fact that you have taken this to the range and shown your results. This is a huge plus in selling a rifle or barrelled action as it's proven...and, I'm certain that in a well bedded stock and developed loads this will prove to be very accurate. Well Done!

Action could stand to have a couple small improvements like 1200 shroud, cocking piece, trigger with side safety and PH scope bases. If you decide to sell you can give the purchaser my PM as I have a correct stock in addition to the parts mentioned.

Great to see these C3 and C3A1 projects on the go!

Does anybody know if Milarm in Edmonton has a C3 in there display? If so, can somebody get some detail..........serial number, walnut or beech stock, metal finish. Better still post a few pictures. Thanks. Ron

SO I talked to them at milarm and they do have an original C3 in wood in the musem. They person there did not have much for details other than it has been there for 30-40 years. Will go and get info and pics soon as have time to get down there.

Carl:
would you happen to have a picture or pictures better yet, of the rings and bases used on the C3 for the Kahles ZF69 scope?
Regards Tim

Hey stranger! LOL!

Where the heck have you been!

No problem.

I'll have to dig into my goodie box - gimmie a couple days!

Cheers, Carl

Tim,

I emailed you the picture of the metal C3 bases. Most guys are just using the commerical PH bases. They work fine for scope applications and a heck of a lot easier to find!

Ron

Carl:
About the Kahles ZF69 was or did this scope come to the Commonwealth countries both with and without the rangefinding reticle? If it did do you have an approximate timeline on the years of issue, and the rifles they were used on?
Regards Tim

Tim,

I can't speak for the Commonwealth, but ours did not have a range finding reticle. Ours was a standard crosshair with thick bars on the bottom 3 bars.

The scope was in use from the early 70's until we rebuilt to the C3A1 in 90-91.

HTH.

All the best, Carl
