The Ruger's just seem to work, right out of the box. Other's need this or that done first to run proper, or are ammo picky, or thrice the price, or restricted... Not the best looking nor does it have the best ergonomics of the bunch, but its got a lot of current aftermarket support.
Reliability, with cost/accuracy pretty much a tie

At 50m, I can not discern any change in zero.
When I first got the rifle, I adjusted the barrel nut so there is NO wiggle in the barrel between it & the receiver.
It's a solid piece of kit & I highly recommend the Ruger PPC!
I have owned most of the modern, and many of the obsolete PCC/SMG platforms available on the Canadian market during the past 40 years. I can say without hesitation that of the designs still available to Canadian RPAL holders, the B+T APC series is the superior (but also the priciest) option. I would have said the MP5, but that was prohibited in the early 1990s. Next up I'd recommend the SIG MPX or the CZ Skorpion EVO3, but both of those models were prohibited in 2020. So of what's left? Definitely the APC 9, Pro variant or otherwise. Competing designs run a distant second to the B+T product in terms of design and manufacturing excellence, which results in impeccable reliability and superb practical accuracy. One decent design that has thus far escaped the ban-hammer but is frequently overlooked is the Chilean SIG 540-based FAMAE SAF. This is particularly true of the .40 S&W variant, which features m robust steel magazines as opposed to the fragile polymer 9mm mags manufactured by FAMAE to date.

Bartok always has all the cool stuff. For the rest of us w/o prohib status Ruger is flawless and so many options for, it's like a 'big boy' 10/22.

Another vote for the Ruger PC9 here.
Like a fool I sold mine earlier this year after having it a few years and a couple thousand rounds. Not one failure of any kind and I love the sights on these rifles. My kids were as disappointed in my actions as I was, so last week I picked up another, this time the backpacker model.
I just got back from the range tonight and again, absolutely flawless. A little tweak to the rear sight at 50m and then just about spot on at 100m with the open sights.
I can't say enough good about these Ruger rifles.
