PDW builds - Lets see them, and share results

There are so many ways you can dress up an AR and this is one of them. As for placement of flashlight, grips and whatever else you want to dress it up with, it's all personal preference.

The piston system is something you'd probably have to take up with Rick. I'm not sure how much room it needs under the furniture but even if you have to move to a quad rail to make it work, you've got an excellent platform to build off of.

Exactly - it really comes down to personal preference. I went with a combination of different-sized TD rail panels (some trimmed to custom lengths), Gear sector mounts, LaRue clips and Magpul ladder protectors on my PDW build. And yes, I do realize the hand stop is mounted backwards (this was done intentionally to provide a better grip).

In terms of a piston system, I haven't heard great things about the conversions and I think one is money ahead with a separate upper. Mine is a DI, but if I were to get a piston PDW it would probably be a PWS.

If your personal preference is something bizarre don't post a pic of it and solicit comments. This is like a guy posting a pic of a tranny in the "GF and wives under 30" thread then acting offended when people mention that she has a ####.

Then I'm curious to see your safe queen unless you're gear are tools of your career. Please share with us. Be warned though, the critics on this thread have sharp teeth apparently.

I'll try to find a pic of my AR and post it. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the caliber but I'm glad there are those out there pioneering new caliber like the 300 whisper!! I think that has a lot of merit.

This forum is getting to be quite the place!!!

Interesting stock Peter, I remember seeing that stock in the build stage over at Alberta Tactical before you and Rich ran off with the plans for it.

LIE ! NOBODY saw anything till it was complete and I know for a fact you have never seen the stock nor any part of it in person.

How exactly can someone "run off" with something that they wholely own? Once again Troy, talking s**t about which you know nothing. The last time you came out to play you got ##### slapped into silence. Are we really gonna do this again?

If Numpty really thinks he has a claim to the design then I invite him to describe in detail how it works inside. Otherwise you and he might avail yourselves of the opportunity to STFU.

You really don't know what you don't know.

Just another one of the fanboys who thinks playing Call of Duty makes him a real soldier ......... Pay him no attention.

Uhhhhh, you are aware that Big Red has worked in the sandbox as a professional gunslinger? He isn't a wannabe toy soldier like you.

I'm the first to say I haven't spent any time in the military but if someone who has been there has pics of what works, this is the place to post it.

As for the stock Peter, you're the one that's mistaken. I have seen it before while it was being R&D'd and I think it was you that showed it to me; hence the MP5 comment. That should have jogged your memory because I said it then too. Let's try to keep this thread clean and stay away from name calling shall we.

As for the piston drive uppers, I was under the impression because they were an afterthought, the uppers were getting irregular wear inside and needed some revamping to address these issues. I like the piston drive system concept though. It would definitely keep the gun a lot cleaner!!

Yes, more pics!

My PDW actually runs really clean. I used to run a TiNi bolt assembly which easily wiped down, and the new Spike's nickel boron that I switched too is even slicker.
