Got to run the NEA PDW - a sewing machine of efficiency - balances great with the suppressor - the stock looks & feels ackward until you start shouldering & shooting the PDW.

That rail must get pretty hot without gloves on. Considering the roles a PDW could be used in, having the option to use rail covers would be nice.

the hand guard doesnt touch the barrel since its free floated, I dont even feel the heat prior to 60 rounds or so (in succession)
takes about 100-150 to get uncomfortable, again in fairly rapid succession,
but i have had the barrel hot enough to contact burn the c#$P out of my fingers, but the hand guard is just a nice toasty warm.

there is also a lot of surface area on the hand guard so it cools down quite quickly

I grip AR's by the mag well anyway, absolutely love the ### grips and wider magwell on NEA's for that reason.

I understand how a freefloat handguard handguard works. In environments with 20, 30, or 60rd mags and the rifle at a starting temp of 40+C, you need some sort of rail cover if you plan on holding the handguard without gloves.

and whisky flows like water, and women fair,
and the skys are not cloudy all dayyyy

thats is why im getting a 16" or longer in the future so I can go to the states for a taste of pre 90's canada.

but yeah, FA with normal mags id replace it with a proper heat sink/sheild so it could handle more. didnt realize thats what you meant

So tell us more about the PDW stock? You indicate it initially feels awkward...? Details, details...

Initial impression was ackward when shouldering the stock, normally I tend to run the LMT or CTR stock. However when I started shooting the PDW my initial impression was quickly alleviated, unorthodox shooting positions proved comfortable with the PDW stock. Recoil management was very effective with the new spring system (technical details I cannot discuss as I signed a non-disclosure agreement), over the next couple of weeks I will have greater opportunity to shoot the PDW in extended sessions.

see blax, now we have to post every month here to get PDW stock teasers

gadget, can you tell me how bendy it was, did it take much to flex it or was it fairly solid when you had it to shoulder? did it twist at all under pressure?

No flex at all that I could detect, I do not baby my firearms at all, from the low ready for quick snap shots it was solid & responsive once I figured out my sweet spot. I should have a production stock in the next little while and will provide more information after I have more trigger time.

So it would seem... ;)

How's the weight/balance, ie: do you think it comes in lighter or heavier than a Magpul CTR? I'll have to wait on more details about the spring/buffer setup, as I'm rather partial to the recoil/control benefits with my Enindine hydraulic buffer.

Weight and balance are excellent with the stock, I have not weighed the stock but when I get a production version I will.

1st vid target is @ 25m, 2nd vid target is @ 50m

Picture - left target = 25m / right target = 50m

* both targets were half-n-half, controlled single-shots & rapid-firing... Not all rounds fired were video'd though.
