picture of our sks

Heres my Yugo SKS that I just refinnished. I finaly got around to geting the cosmoline out of the stock, and buffing out the hundreds of dents and scratches.
Steaming with an iron most deffinatly worked for getting out alot of major dents.
Anyway here it is now, the third coat just dried today, and it is a Red mahogany stain with all weather clear varnish.

Calum,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
Here goes,

Tasco red dot 1x30mm (model # BKRD30)
Butler Creek (2) # 13 Objective (I find the Obj. works best front and rear on the red dot)

I have had great luck with this set up on my SKS.

Hopes this helps,

wcmd

To further fuel the debate

For me to get the same value sks vs AR I would have to spend

1 sks 150
Reloading dies and molds 80
Stripper clips thrown out by others 0

Total 230

1 AR 1500
reloading dies plus swagger 1000
Mags 30 bucks each 10 300

Eotech 3 point sling and everything
elses that someone Needs for an AR $$$$

So I would be looking at 230 versus 2800+

so far I have been able to resist. Kind of like quiting smoking for a Gun Nutz.

That is such an unfair comparison it hurts.

Why bother trying to make an sks look like an AR or an AK? Makes no sense at all! The SKS is just what it is. A cheap hard hitting semi(that we all love dearly). The length of pull with the sks is an issue for most North americans though and I guess this could lead to looking for a new stock or at least a butt extension. And I have to say that the pursuit of accuracy is kind of understandable. But,like curtton said they are "apples and oranges" and I think anything more than a "grater" handguard is a waste of money, not to mention making a nice looking rifle look "cheesy". Skip the bling and buy the real thing. OK bring it on

Punkrocks SKS looks better than a CZ-858. Sorry 858ers, but those guns look like a drunk, sausage eating pollack designed it. :slap: ;)

As well, synthetic stocks take on 30 and 75 mags/drums easier.

Nah, im special.

I go to the states sometimes. Pin inserted for Canada, pin yanked for some parts of USA. Simple. Full auto trigger group too to go with the standard.

Ever seen an SKS put 450 rounds downrange in under a minute?
Good times.
