Notice AR-10 on left has the cutouts on handguard for bipod legs.
There are way more bipod (recessed) handguards than bipods. I think to save weight they might have been discarded. So a machinist friend of mine decided to make some reproduction bipods so he coule put one on his Porto. I loaned him an original set that he disassembled. Three months later he had made a half a dozen reproductions. The one to the far left is the original.
He had a heck of a time selling the extra bipods.

Ok Squadron from Military Aircraft
This squadron was composed of US planes admitted (and subsequently acquired) during Operation Torch. It consisted of 1 P-38 F Lightning fighters (the ′′ generals plane ′′)), 15 P-400 Airacobra (with 20 mm cannon) and 4 P-39 L Airacobra (with 37 mm cannon) Due to lack of technical and spare manuals, it had poor operationality. I always thought the Ferret , the ideal recce vehicle, low profile, easy to hide , quiet , nothing like a GM diesel with today’s recce vehicles announcing your presence to unfriendly people that you are in their neighbourhood

In an urban setting I think a beige Toyota Corolla with a trunk full of M72’s is a better vehicle for stealth, firepower and dependability/durability. Slip in some kevlar plates and might even be better armoured. Just not as ###y. Use the same specs and substitute a Toyota crewcab pickup for field work.

At one time, Crown Surplus in Calgary had a yard full. They were holding for some American owner , I believe.

Go with a very proven platform Hilux/SR-5/Tacoma or the Forerunner

Friday morning kit layouts were a royal PITA'!
Our Corps School (Vimy Barracks, Kingston) was so hot and humid during the summer that polished brass would tarnish overnight. You slept on the cool tile floor as it was next to impossible to sleep on a bed.
