Hi. I took my girlfriend to the range today for the first time ( she really loved it by the way ) and she was using my Norc 9mm. Aside from thinking it was very heavy and she was nervous shooting for the first time ever she also found that the grip was very difficult for her to hold proper with her very small hands and unfortunately some arthritis in her right thumb and trigger finger. Also the trigger on the pistol isn't the lightest and she claimed it was extremely difficult to pull. She has the hands the size of a grown child. She's only 5' nothing and not much more than 110 lbs soaking wet. So if I were to get something suitable say in a 22 cal what would most recommend for a pistol with a smaller grip that she might be able to hold and handle with more confidence?

GT.

Your best bet would probably be to take her to a shop and see which one feels best. I would recommend a Walther but unless you can find a used one they are hard to find lately.

A browning buck mark .22 might fit the bill. Or a 80% 1911 from browning, they are mini (80%) sized 1911s. Come in .22

I second the Walther P22. About the smallest grip size of the full size 22 pistols. My wife has found some comfort with a Sig (GSG) 1911 22 with thin grips, but, really liked the feel of the Walther

Neither Flahertys or Bulleye have the Walther P22 to even try on for size. Guess I'll keep an eye out for used. In the mean time we will maybe do as suggested and shop around.

My 9 and 7 year old children shoot my Ruger MKIII no problems - and I have oversized grips on it due to my large hands.

Wow the Beretta 87 is a little expensive. At this point I don't want to spend big bucks on a pistol for her in case the novelty wears off real quick. Of course she seen what the Walther P22 looks like and she's stuck on it!!!

Roger Mark 3 22/45 has pretty slender grips as does the norinco m93. I'm sure there are others.... go to a gun shop and try a few.
