I want a 1A light sporter with upgraded wood and sights (preferably sights like the craig boddington limited editions, the solid ones that dont fold) but NO engraving.

Hope nobody minds, but i thought we should hash this out

Not a problem. I've got quite the set of notes from people as they were calling/PMing, emailing too. I've been avoiding getting into it too much as I'm waiting for Ruger to let us know if they will do it and what they will suggest(insist?).
My preference is a 1-S or a 1-A but I'd settle for a RSI. Now, when I say that, I'm not speaking as a store owner but as someone who wants one for my safe :)
To answer several inquiries all at once; this rifle will need a .311 bore, not .308; that's one 'deal killer' for me if Ruger were to insist on .308".
BTW, as far as wood goes; I've also inquired(with no answer yet)if we could send in some blanks fro our inventory and have a few made from them. Obviously these would sell for a premium but I' guessing there would be a few who would pay for fantastic wood (I will) Just a thought-no idea if Ruger will do this.

OOPPSS

Just came across this poll here.

I had suggested such in another thread.

I voted for 1-S Med sporter;
Preferably with irons and 26" tube .310-311 bore. Walnut plain standard checkering.

The Sierra SMK need tight bore. Lot more critical than with round nose .311-312 bullets.

I'd be down for "fantastic" wood (now it just sounds funny that I've typed it..) if your starting a list of premium buyers.

I was originally thinking of a 1A with regular wood.
After reading alot, and seeing what other people are talking about I cast a vote for the 1-S with regular wood and a 24-26" barrel.
That being said: I wouldn't say no to an 1A or an RSI either.

I voted for a 1-S upgraded wood and engraving. I would love an upgrade in wood and something engraved on the receiver would be nice too, something tastful, doesn't have to be big or fancy.

However I'll be happy with any configuration it comes in. I'll take one, barring some unforseen financial emergency.

I voted for 1-s cause i think a little extra barrel will be nice

Of course I'd be pretty happy with an rsi or a 1-a or any ruger in .303 britisth

I guess i should say that when i put the poll up, i was kinda going by what i had seen people suggesting, and just wanted to see where the trend was. the options i put on it were what i took to be common suggestions, and i am in no way trying to horn in on clay's, or dwe's, territory:)
