Prohibition on assault-style firearms

so what does this mean for other weapons that did not make the list, like the sks, the tavor, type 81, brs 99 , i own these guns , do i have to sell them?

Welcome to the Land of Ignorance!!! How many out of those 78% know that NS tragedy shooter wasn't a legal firearms owner and used the contraband guns??? How many out of 65% know that the claim by Just-In about those "semi-automatic weapons designed to kill as many people as fast as possible" are not automatic in Canada and restricted to 5 rounds in magazine? How many out of those who celebrate this "great accomplishment" by the party that ONLY won the last elections because of the votes in Greater Toronto Area (and lost popular vote) know that there are 9! times more homicides in Chicago comparing to Houston (similar size of city, similar socioeconomic, similar everything, EXCEPT for weather and tightness of the gun law)???

Since they have already started seeing submachine guns in drug raids here (mostly shop made) I can imagine things are going to get a lot more interesting here in that regard very shortly.

I grew up in the UK, specifically the part where thousands of people died from terrorism attacks and there were literally boat loads of arms & explosives being shipped in.

Bans don't mean a thing to determined people.

Well, if you keep advertising it on public forums they most likely will make the second generation list.

As it stands, if its not on the list, then its not on the list.

You know when you think of how long it took for marijuana to be legalized and history of non-compliance with the law...maybe that’s the route we take.

As far as I’m aware more people are killed by those under the influence of drugs (not saying marijuana) or by drugs themselves then by homicide (mass shootings, gang etc)

Even more of a reason to ensure that you dont help anyone who is determined to take away your rights / legally owned property.
 
What I find interesting are the numerous posts about how tyrannical this government is, and how controversial the move to ban the “assault weapons” is; but yet in this tumultuous time there remains no mention of taking up arms and marching up against the government. Although it feels like we are heading in that direction.

May cooler heads prevail.

Honestly, the only way to make ourselves visible as a group is to make ourselves visible.

There is only so much a lobby group can do, and only so many means to advocate. But if we show up as a group in solidarity that is a clear message.

What I see is, since Trud or Blair already stated we, as civilians, don’t need “design to kill weapon”, “military weapon”, they stood at a higher point of view being politically fool the public. And if we make ourselves visible, it becomes obviously the public will think that we are crazy or criminal

I didn’t serve for real , just a reservist at a young age . I can attest that I will be flying the flag upside down from here on out too. Next is looki g for work in another country , quite possibly another continent.

What scares me the most.

What scares me the most, is that at some point in the future, if another A-HOLE commits a mass shooting, or some type of shooting with a legally registered, (or stolen) hunting rifle, bolt action, then the anti-gun lobbyists will push to ban those too.

They don't realize that as scary as they perceive guns to be, people like Gabriel Wortman are exceedingly rare - thank god. Based on the increase of PAL's issued in Ontario over the last 5 years, gun crime has declined, and even the RCMP's stats show no correlation between the increase of PAL's issued, and gun crime. — You all know this, my question is, why doesn't everybody else?

Because that is such a secret rifle in Canada, right? Give it a rest, big brother knows exactly what we have in numbers. Anything semi-auto that is sold and advertised by retailers that is not a current prohib is definitely on their future lists. Pistols (all types) included.

Get mad at the people that deserve our disgust, not our brothers affected by this rape on our civil rights.
