RCMP and converted autos

Get on the horn with a "friendly" media outlet and get this crap published in the papers.

The only thing that corrects the bad behaviour of bureaucrats is publicity. These d-bags love to work in anonymity. Shine a light on them.

There are enough 12.3 holders in this thread, I'm assuming with verifiable stories, that you could make a decent sized, and very public, stink in the media.
 
I dont know how much sympathy we would get when the RCMP starts showing pics of scary Mg42s or Ak47s prolly scare the crap out of a lot of ppl and play right into their{RCMP} hands .General public knows less then zero about this stuff .
 
It's unfortunate that the gun "lobby" groups, CSSA, NFA have thrown CA, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, gun owners under the bus. The sacrificial offerings as it were.

Funny as it is us that are the oldest, most vetted by government, etc etc, gun owners.

Black guns and semi auto guns are next.. It ain't hard to imagine. CSSA are happy to save the over/under crowd. Oh ya, and the shoot 3 "shells" a year hunting crowd.

It's no secret of the political agenda, and the CSSA are a helping hand to it all. Dicks.

Gee, ya don't say .... "classification" really = delayed confiscation? Who'dathunk it ..... ?

I've been telling people for years that the whole "classification" scheme is just a red herring, smoke & mirrors cover up for delayed confiscation. Anyone who supports "classification" of any kind is a government shill, working against the best interests of Canadian gun owners.

How many people do you know that are kicking their butts for not making the cut off for 12(6) prohib and all the other classifications? They created classes of gunowners, knowing that eventually the "grandfathered" types will die off and their guns revert to the Crown.

Coming from the era when there was none of this autocratic, bureaucratic bovine garden enhancer, I can vouch for the fact that Canadian society was a lot safer and better environment than it is now. Civil disarmament programs have always resulted in increased illegal gun trafficking.

Who wants to live in a society where only the army, police and criminals have guns? We're getting close to that dystopian, Orwellian reality.
 
If they have already been examined it does not take long . I bought a M14 it had already been inspected . Took a couple of weeks for transfer.
 
When did the re-inspection on sale/transfer become the practice? When this all started back in 1991/92 all CAs were submitted to the RCMP forensics labs for inspection prior to registration certificates being issued for them. For many years after that CAs could be transferred to a licensed purchaser without any re-inspection.
 
I am waiting for the transfer approval for two 12(3)s that I have sold. I phoned in the transfer request on January 13 2015.

The MP40 that I owned and registered as a 12(3) in 1992 went through the RCMP forensic lab, HOWEVER, when they sent the registration certificate the serial number on the certificate was missing the suffix letter “U” in the serial number.
I corrected that when I phoned in the request for the transfer of ownership.

None of my 12(3)'s were examined by anyone other than me when they were first registered in 1992. I did have to draw up a document describing the modifications at a later date.

I know several other people with 12(3) and none of theirs were examined either when they were registered at that time.
 
Yes 12.3 's when this started did not need to be examined. A letter describing the modifications was the only thing required. They only started examining them on request for transfer.
 
Try making some freedom of information requests about your problem. The responses are interesting and it only costs $5
 
I with dewat them then sell them ..sad they are worth more that way..... or i will package the whole lot to dealer i know who will then dewat them and sell them

seems the RCMP started doing this inspection around 4 years ago
 
I traded and purchased one a year for the past 6 or 7 years and this is the only one I have ever had them detain and hold in Guantanamo Ottawa. I talked to Epps a few months ago and they (Epps) had something like 18 guns in the system some going back 3 years. The person at the Ottawa center said there were a few hundred in the system but they may not be 12-3s.
From our brief conversation on this forum there are probably more than 12, 12-3s a year.
I would swap some Mausers and Enfields for 12-3s just to P*ss them off.
The RCMP are creating such as hassle for dealers that most of them won't handle 12-3s.
I am with Epps if they hang in there and keep handling 12-3s.

The NFA appears to be in shambles so we can't expect much from them.
