RCMP Bulletin

They still haven't addressed restricted transfers that were initiated before the prohibitions came into effect. This definitely effects private sales where the money has already changed hands and the parties were simply waiting on the slow wheels of bureaucracy to catch up. Has there been official documentation that addresses this?

I was told what was started before will be processed

So with the meat packing plants having Covid issues I can use my Prohibited firearms to sustain myself by hunting rabbits or other legal game?

In the Gazette there is a specific section dealing with possible continued use of previously non-restricted firearms by Aboriginals to hunt pending consultation during the amnesty period.

I don’t imagine there are a lot of said weapons being used for hunting by the Aboriginals.

Probably buy them all nice new Tikkas when the time comes instead of grandfathering the few that are all out there.

It was always written that way in the OIC. It just wasn't worded as clearly, but it was there, which is why I never understood the claims of discrimination....

I’m not a lawyer but I would suggest that common sense dictates that you would be OK if,

1. You have a hunting licence,
2. Your game is in season,
3. You are using the proper caliber for the game in question
(I don’t think you can hunt small game with anything larger than a .22 or a shotgun)
4. You are actually hunting, not spraying rounds in the bush
5. You are properly attired with the required orange blaze
6. You have a really good explanation and a copy of the RCMP bulletin with you

Going for a walk in the woods while hosing 9mm out of your Storm would probably land you in trouble

Can you not technically own an M16 if you have the proper class of Prohibited Licence?

Of course all fully autos can’t leave the house, have really strict storage rules, and cannot be inherited...

I guess they are calling those in...

Funny, the Thompsons and Steyr AUGs are still safe, (in the safe)

M16? Really...

I am non aboriginal / I do not speak french / I am a Euro Canadian / I am caucasian. I am screwed in this country.

I am not sure WHY people keep pointing this out?

It says clearly....At the end of the Amnesty EVERYONE must comply....?

1St Nations are only exempt for hunting and fish and So is everyone else.?

Just no target or sport shooting.

Not to harp on about the race side of this I can't help but wonder how these horrible firearms that have no use in hunting can be ok to hunt with?

$100,000 ?

Where did you come up with that?

Just off the top of my head after seeing some of the numbers floating about there are probably, at most, 150K weapons out there...

I think an “average” cost of even $3K for each one (including mags and bipod but not optics like in NZ) the price tag would be $450M...chump change for the Liberals and the Glorious Leader.

He may have bought 50K votes from fence-sitters.
Works out to $9,000 vote.
Cheaper than paying a student for doing nothing all summer or setting up a recently arrived “irregular” border-crosser who will vote Liberal for life.

Everyone who despises the Liberals will continue to do so but with a vengeance.
Everyone who drinks their Koolaid will take another blissful swig.

In case you are haven’t figured it out, politics is all about getting votes for the cheapest cost while weaseling to hide the optics of it

I dont see where they will give me $100,000 in cash for each of my ARs ?

**Exceptions are included under the Amnesty Order to allow for the continued use of the newly-prohibited firearms and/or devices (if previously non-restricted) by individuals who hunt or trap to sustain themselves or their families, and by Indigenous persons exercising Aboriginal or treaty rights to hunt. At the end of the amnesty period, all firearm owners must comply with the new law.

The language identifies A second group that is covered here, distinct from those with treaty and aboriginal rights
In court the The government must prove that those people (Individuals) are not hunting or trapping to sustain themselves to prove illegality.

The Federal government cannot define any persons accumulation of sustenance. The provision to hunt is granted to every citizen by the province and the metric is defined under licenced hunting and trapping regulation

You can’t be found illegal when you are in fact legal. The court would see the unreasonableness of the feds trying to argue something they don’t manage nor can they restrict. Sustainence of an individual and they’re families is determined by choice.
If they mean or imply game as food, then ones hunting/trapping licence protects that.

I am not caucasian and i am screwed too. Lets not make it about race. This is about taxpayers and law abiding citizens versus the liars and parasites in the government. They intentionally put in that subsistence hunter clause to divide and conquer. Dont fall for it. Lets work together to reverse this injustice.

a lot of these newly prohibited rifles will be bought by them and strolled back across the border with no problems at all.they have a million ways in,LOL,,and if they ban handguns, they'll probably end up there too, they dont recognize any border, good for them, they choose to follow their own laws,

Yep, a lot of us are in that boat. What do we do? I also have two young boys. I feel terrible for them.

I have three sons. I have the same worries about their future.

WE FIGHT. Now is the time for us all to put our money and energy into this fight. this NOT just about our "toys". This is a fight for OUR cultural traditions. All of my ancestors used firearms for hunting and sustenance too. The same rules should apply to us non-aboriginals because my European ancestors were aboriginals over there too. Doesn't Turdeau say we are should celebrate our diversity?

And I agree, this should NOT be about race. My long time partner is an Indo immigrant and Canadian veteran. We agree on all of this stuff.

The enemy is the Liberals trying to turn us into serfs. Citizens are armed.

Hey guys, this just popped up when I tried to log into the RCMP business portal.
There is not much new here, but at least it is from horses mouth sort to speak and it is a good official summary.
Pleas do read other posts on CGN on the ongoing efforts for the advocacy and how to help fight back these changes.
This is just for reference as it is not always easy to navigate the RCMP Firearms program website:

RCMP -- What you need to know about the Government of Canada’s new prohibition on certain firearms and devices

Funny how these ####s still refer to the M14 rifle. That is the full automatic prohibited version. Well I don't own any of those.
