Real CGN-wildcat-thread-soon-to-be-forum

I had a article (somewere in this ratsnest of a reloading room) on a 6.5x375 that was quite impressive at its time , wether anything ever became of this wildcat i have no idea but she would be a good barrel burning powder consuming PIG

I will see if I can find the article, wont count on it , a huricane went through this reloading room my wife swears  , I like the big stuff as well but at some point I lost alot of respect for them.....oh yea it was when a dam 6mm custom jobby kept whooping my ass at our annual 1000 yard shoot

Bones
Would that be the 6.5 Weatherby Wright Hoyer . Basically a 6.5-300 weatherby. It ruled for a couple of years after the 308 norma and the30-338 win.

I dont think so , it was a 375 h&h case necked down if I remember correctly

(edited) Bullcoon just informed me that it was a wby case same as H&H I guess I never looked it up , regardless she would be a humdinger if you could stabalize bullets @ long ranges :D

I have often thought of a 6.5 mm wildcat bigger than the .264 win. I keep leaning to the .300 Win case. My feeling is it would be a bit more efficient. :? than the weatherby case. I also think that the long 6.5mm bullets would take up too much space in the weatherby case to fit in a regular magazine length.

RR, is your gun and Enfield?? what mag length is it?? what OA case length are you using??

Do I have any merrit here or am I on drugs??

Bevin king barrel 26" fluted stainless,he also did the action. My stock. Riverhurst Rifle Ranch was Al Pederson and later his son Bob. Als dead Bob sold the Equipment off.

well only thing i think i have like that would be
an m1 carbine re barrled to 45 win mag
think of a semi auto 4lb carbine shooting a 200gr JHP at 1900fps
its cheap to shoot and beats a 44mag

With Moose and Elk hunting fast approaching (here already in some parts of the nation) I thought I would choose the .358 STA as our * Wildcat of the day*

Pics are kinda big/####ty but #### it here goes anyway.

That makes the rifle the wildcat! Hell it works for me.What do you do for mags.
Rich
well you have to just mill out the m1 carbin mag a bit at the back and lower the front as well
so the mag would be a 15rd m1 30 cal now its a 6rd single stack mag
blocked to 5
the company that made these were called Le mag
i,m glad he used a good winchester m1 carbine as the base of the gun
bolt head is milled out stiffer op-rod and spring and a new barrle
you can only tell is somthing other then a 30carbine by look at the big bore of the barrle
just love this thing
my best load is a 250gr hornady xtp JHP at 1385fps
but the 185gr is allso lots of fun
but that makes it a bit of a thumper on just a light gun but i love it
i take it everywhere as it has a 19ins barrle
