RF224 11.7” Review?

Alright, i took it out again today, and was able to fire off an enjoyable couple hundred rounds with the 597 mags loaded with 20 rounds. We're getting there! However, now the bolt buffer pin just wants to fall out, i flipped it around so the knurling on it can grip the otherside of the receiver, but i'm not confident this will be a permanent solution for retaining this pin (the thicker of the 3)

I've seen others report the pin falling out as well, they sent it in for warranty. I personally haven't had this issue but I keep an eye on that pin all the time cause, I don't want to lose it.

Patiently waiting for aftermarket support on this platform.

Sorry JDMarks, ive watched the video in full now, it does have a bolt catch that looks alot like the factory 1022 one, i wish ours had that, but it does look like it only works with certain mags for LSBHO, but id be happy with jist being able to lock the action open, even if it were manual.

I was shooting it slobbering wet today trying to get it to work reliably and it caught on fire, i assumed unburned powder in the action as it wasnt on fire on fire, just a poof and tons of smoke pouring out of the action, but google says it was likely atomized oil, never seen that happen, so ya, eye pro on, and don't over oil your semi autos, also it still gets 1-2 malfunctions per mag, the odd time it'll spray off a whole mag, rare, but satisfying. Atleast it looks cool.

wish I had a spot I can go out in the wild fred, love the pics!

I'm on the bench at 50

I still get the odd hicup too but at least it's actually fun the shoot now. Break- in was definitely needed with this rifle.

I also run this wet and it runs better.

Oil the 597 mags from the bottom while it's loaded, it helped with the 7-8 round bump (those who know, you know lol). Pro-mags are the worst hahha

I want to *UPATE my {review} out of 100+ CCI Mini-Mags, using just 10/22 pattern mags-Including a PRO-MAG that looks just like a Butler Creek knock off. Minimal issue, just a couple with those Pro-Mag 10/22 ones, at the very beginning.

I mentioned that I got a 30rnd Pro-Mag drum. Its seemed OK the 1st time I used it, but, not sure if bcuz the 'winding' mechanism or what. I have now had bad luck with it trying it again. I put 20 in, wound it properly I believe, & continuous BS, ftf/fte.

I'm back on the PRO-MAGS {mostly} SUCK!! I will go load up the 10/22 style Pro-Mags again{these have been good}, & try the drum Full & wound tight again, & report back.
The included Adler & the Butler Creek 10/22 mags, were 99.9% so far- Im still only around 150 in total. Not broke in, but still, good to know how they run at the beginning.
Where I shot, there is close neighbours, but still allowed to shoot here, so I don't go crazy.
Have to make it t the cub & Im bring 300+ various to run through it.

I put a volquartzen extractor, spring and plunger in from new and this thing doesn't miss a beat. Have about 500 rounds of aguila through it and has never had a FTE, 3 FTF total but that could be the ammo. A friend tried his stock and its a jam o matic so hes ordered the volquartzen upgrade as well.

Where did you order these upgrade parts from, are they 10/22 parts, any fitment issues?
A link (or links) would be fantastic I'd love to get mine running well.

Yeah 10/22 parts. Complete drop in zero fitment issues. I had mine sitting around as a spare from one of my dlask builds. I also had a Kidd setup that I tried but the extractor was a diffrent shape where the plunger sits and it wont work. I belive my friend ordered his from Sylvester's in Bonyville Ab

Great thread guys, lots of good information. For those ordering the Tandemkross extractor kits from the USA are you getting dinged with any brokerage fees or just the shipping and tax? I can't seem to source them in Canada.

I ordered an SBI extractor kit from a Canadian dealer, will report back once it arrives.
I took my adler apart, i frustratingly used red thread locker to hold the buffer pin in and had to take a crack-torch-lighter to it to get it out, i lapped the top of the reciever while cleaning it as its pretty chunky from overspray and whatnot and the bolt does ride along the top, i likely won't be reassembling and trying it before the new extractor comes in, as i got a feeling that buffer pins gunna need to be glued in again lol.

What do you mean oil it from the bottom? You mean put oil in the little hole in the bottom of the mag? after it's loaded? I have problems with those mags too! i guess we all do.

Will Ruger brand 10/22 banana mags (pinned to 10) fit in this gun? I haven't tried.
