Savage Mark II

SO the Mark II have all the aftermarket parts like the 10/22? I would like to get a bolt action, and was looking at a Mark II

WILDCAT 500, .22rf single-shot, circa 1970s, unknown number produced by at least two different companies: Mtn. Arms, Inc. in Ozark, MO and Rau Arms Corp. in El Dorado, KS. Mine has a gray parkerized finish and is in NRA VG+ condition.

Action is similar to the better-known Garcia Bronco of roughly the same era.

Though the Broncos had wire "skeleton" stocks, the Wildcat was available with wooden, or wood-looking plastic inserts, like my gun is wearing, inside its "skeleton" stock.

All variations of this little guy sell for mucho $$$ - when they can be found. They were produced in both a takedown model, and a non-takedown like this one.

I'm told these guns were written about in the earliest Grant book on .22 rifles. I've not had a chance to look for a copy yet.

Umm mine is the blued version but I got mine form site sponsor frontier. They said on the phone they have the stainless version as well but it just wasn't listed on their website. I believe it was going for $569. Worth giving them a call if your interested. It's toll free :)
