One bolt holding on the barrel to come loose. Ejector bolts that work themselves loose, The bolt release should be one piece. Folding stock should attach to something when folded.
Basically just a bunch of design choices when they got behind the 8-ball, and decided to rampantly cut corners in the 11th hr to get it shipped.

Funny how the few guys with negative comments flood a thread. One of my pals has 6 AR's of various brands, 4 are so unrelaible he wont use them anymore, the other 2 still have enough feed problems that he says he would never ever trust his life to one, pretty much shoots his SL8 exclusively.
My XCR was completely torn down immediately, cleaned, locktited and lubed. I guess I could thank the internet for that advice. At about 200 rounds I stripped it once again, cleaned and lubed it. It did not have a single issue during break in. However this time I used a very heavy lube on the hammer pivot. This caused drag on the hammer and I had blanking primers. I verified it was a lubrication issue by disassembly, re lube and repeat back and fourth with light and heavy.
Now at a total of 1300-1600 rounds, not a single issue other than 4 or 5 bob's that were due to unseated mags. This gun does get abused, it has been out in the pouring rain, -30's, and covered and I mean covered in wet clay mud. It is in fact still caked in mud from may long weekend, the barrel is a faint orange, all the screws on the gun and optics are crusting with rust.
Would I buy another...for sure. If AR's were non restricted I might have bought one instead only due to price. My pal with the 6 AR's and SL8, well he will never buy another AR and hes had many more in the past.
Why do the few despise the AR so much? My guess is because we can play rambo anywhere we want while they are stuck punching paper. You will notice that its the same 3 or 4 guys #####ing about their old style XCR's, there are no NEW complainers, but many NEW SATISFIED owners. Its been a long long time since anyone posted an issue with an XCR. Why didnt the XCR catch on in the US...Well in a country where AR's are non restricted and the XCR costs twice as much as most, what would you expect....

Perhaps he put them together himself and screwed the builds up.
If they are brand name AR-15s, name the brands and tell me where they were bought.
every one of those issues you named is moot with a single drop of locktite with exception of the folder. LOL.
Did you know that every japanese dirtbike sold in the last 15 years is assembled with minimal grease in the steering stem and suspension linkage. Every purchaser is aware that they should tear the bike apart and lube them, also go over every bolt, and then check bolts periodically, spokes daily.
Thate a whole fu#k of alot more work than the XCR requires. We dont cry.
Well I know one is a bushmaster because when I was finished fiddeling with it he threw it across the room. It isnt BS. I dont know what the others are. I dont recall seeing any markings at all on one of them. I do know they arent custom builds, they are as he bought them. Hes also got a stack of 12-16 mags that dont work, and another of 7-10 that do. My XCR doesnt have a problem with any of them.

who knows, perhaps hoping to get a good one. He bought them all before the release of the XCR or SL8. Now hes happy with a fuctioning rifle. I dont know what all the brands are, theres 6 in total, 4 are complete junk, 2 somewhat work. I have no reason to make this up, I know theres millions and millions of perfectly working AR's. He just has a bunch that dont and I know in no way does his handfull represent the millions of perfectly operating rifles. Im just telling you his dont. Belive it or not, I dont care.

I'm happy his XCR rocks. I love guns.
I don't believe for one second 4 of his 6 factory AR-15's don't function. Where did he buy them? Didn't he contact the dealer? Didn't the dealer make it right? Stag Arms has a lifetime guarantee?
The questions go on and on.

Feb 2010 1000 rds of 7. 62x39 and no loctite no barrel falling off or triggers breaking no ejector bolts came loose to date but I must say it turns heads when hunting . RA has done well with my XCR Iam satisfied no thanks to the AR wall hangers.
Maybe for you, but not for me. Depends on how hard you run your gear maybe.
I had an ejector come loose even after it was reloctited. In the end, it was welded.
I'd prefer there were no screws to come loose that close to the moving parts though of course.

Had mine a couple of years (1st model with adjustable gas), put about 1000 rounds through it, no loctite, no failures.
The ability to de-bug ones own firearm is not as common as you would think, despite how simple it is. If it were, you'd have more replies like your initial post lol. I've encountered many people who's solutions are as follows (note the lack of rational thought):
1)mindlessly fiddle with gun
2)hit gun
3)throw gun
4)rant on internet forum about how gun, and manufacturer suck and ignore them
5)return rifle to dealer or try to, depending on what fudd-fix they attempted to do on the gun...
I think what you are trying to do is an excellent idea, hope you can collect enough accurate data to properly isolate some major internal functional design errors and get some replacement parts fabricated.
Well, the ejector had 2 fixes that we came up with. loctite, and lockwasher, or weld.
Both have consequences.
The oversized unradiused firing pin holes had a "solution" to radius the hole.
etc.
None of the problems I've seen, or heard about are really post ship fixable. They are design, or QC issues.
I am all for people in the XCR community banding together to share, and create fixes for their rifles. Much like what is done with Norincos.
Umm, MikeJ, no, that isn't what we did. I think we went well beyond what an end user should do.
Hmmm. Well for what it is worth, I have hunted coyotes for 2 yrs with my XCR in the snow,mud,ansd rain under varying temperatures. After about 1200 rnds I have to say that it ran as well as my SL8. I have zero complaints about it. Maintenance at times was minimal, but then again I bought this rifle to use in the field, not as a safe queen.

After ~ 5k rounds on it,
- No rattles, squeaks or misalignments between components. I follow a cleaning, and inspection regimen and inspect every so often and haven't noticed anything loose either.
- No sign of excessive wear on any part except the top rail where there is very slight wear evident on the rails I have mounted a few different types of scopes to test and a few scratches on the inside of the magwell.
- Trigger has always been smooth and from what I remember, has always engaged cleanly and predictably.
- Barrel accuracy has remained constant.
- The holes in the lower tube of the stock were slightly off center causing the buttpad to be 4 degrees off the vertical. Replaced by Wolverine under warranty even though I was not the first owner of the gun.
I noticed that it takes a few rounds to break in the system, but once completed it functions flawlessly with quality mags. In fact, the XCR is the only firearm that I own that feeds reliably off the 2 Chinese AR mags I have. Dunno why, it just does *shrug* so it gets to "keep" them.
In short, IMHO, it works just as well as, or as bad as, most other rifles. Lube them, clean them and shoot them. If you're planning undercover special Ops with face paint and a commando dagger, your requirements may vary!
