Rossi Ranch Hand full-size stock G/B ~ UPDATE - Feb 15/2013

Spoke with him today. He said that the first batch was done (mine included) and he was waiting to receive them back from the guy who was doing the sanding. He gave Wednesday as the day he would have them and start shipping them out. I asked him to call me once he was ready to ship and we would discuss the details of the final payment. He did say there would be a 15.00 shipping charge on top of everything.

I am just passing along this information, I won't make any excuses for him. I guess we will see soon enough if this is finally it or keep hearing more excuses.

Talked to Rich today. He said he's just waiting for the guy doing the finishing to return them (they're ready apparently).

He said he would've had them sooner, but the guy finishing them couldn't make it down because of a snow storm...

Rich says the guy should be dropping by tomorrow, and Rich will start mailing them out Tuesday.

We shall see...

We shall see indeed.

This has required a huge amount of patience from all of us... The quality better make up for the delays... If they arrive and aren't remotely what we have all expected this could get ugly I suspect.

Fingers crossed.

Can someone else call Rich today (Sunday) and confirm he got the stocks back ?

Would like to know if I can really expect my gun back this week, or if he was blowing smoke up our collective a$$es again...

Thanks for your patience guys. I don't feel as bad knowing other people are aware of his shenanigans.

I am going to call him on Wednesday, that would make it a full week from when he said he would be ready to ship and would be calling me.

I sort of already knew that he wouldn't be ready; I can't wait to hear his newest excuses and shipping estimate.

Ok, I couldn't wait and called him right now. He has them back and will be shipping on Tuesday. The post office is a block and a half away and nothing short of a blizzard would prevent the shipment from moving out, or his making it to the post office. His words.

I made it quite clear that I would like to be contacted with a tracking number once he had it; I was assured that it would not be a problem. I also asked quite plainly if this was it or would there be more delays. He said that there would be no more issues and that this would be it and I should have the package in about a week.

On a related note I will be posting pictures (for the first time) once I have the stocks in my hands. I understand that to post pics I will first need to host them offsite? What is the best site (free, easy to use) to do this from? I heard tinypic? Any others? Forgive me, I am a bit of a Luddite.

Thanks Klaus.

Wow... just got my Ranch Hand and am looking for a stock set exactly like what is being discussed here.

Damn, looks like you all had a hell of a wait, I guess I missed the boat? Anyone want to sell their set? :D

had a hell of a wait?...try still waiting. i'm not part of this group, however i have been following this thread. all i have to say is i hope everything works out in the end...and yes, i think the patience by the members in this group buy has been more than gracious especially given the promises and excuses given by the supplier. i'm hoping for the "my stock finally arrived" post and the fit and finish is perfect...fingers crossed

He mentioned he had sent a pair to Vancouver when I talked to him yesterday...

BTW, mine still isn't ready.

Hopefully that set would be mine (fingers crossed). He sent them out Wednesday, not Tuesday. I hope that it will be a quality product well worth the wait.

I hope he's giving your stock set special care and fitting it to your gun proper seein' as this group buy
was your idea. ( I'm greatful, not #####ing BTW.) Rich should give you a deal on yours considering all
the hassle you bin putting up with.

Well, he is giving me a "deal"... I didn't have to pay for the finishing or butt-pad.

And he is "fitting it", but that was part of the original deal. He had never done a Rossi before, so he needed mine to make the template.

I am very concerned that he (says) he sent product out, but no one has recieved anything yet...

:sok2

Package was delivered Monday. The person who signed for it when I was not home gave it to me today.

Definately will need some sanding to fit. This is the first set of stocks I have ordered (for a lever gun) so I am not too sure what to expect but it doesn't look like a small job. Hopefully others get theirs soon and I can see if I am just nit picky.

Sorry no pics yet

HOORAY! Someone finally got their stock set!
Things are lookin' up. w:h: :dancingbanana: :runaway:

As for the amount of final finishing, I put a Boyd's butt stock on my .44 Rossi trapper,
and the wood was left quite proud in the grip area plus the inletting for the tangs
needed some carful Dremel work. The time to finish the bugger was about 5 hrs.
for me. (I'm finicky.)
