Rossi Ranch Hand full-size stock G/B ~ UPDATE - Feb 15/2013

Just went to the Post Office, but I'm scared to open the box...

I think I might ovrec if it isn't very close to perfect.

I know these weren't mega expensive, but I expect some kind of craftsmanship for my money...

WOW... sorry you guys got burned! I hope they get better than the one Klaus received... the two primary areas of concern seem to be the buttstock to receiver fit and the undersized wood beneath the barrel band... the barrel band area should have been left slightly proud for a "sand to fit."

Well yours should be the best since he was using your gun for the template.........

Thanks for the pics Klaus. Looks like we got burned on this one. It's a frickin' shame
that we got screwed over by a fellow Canuck. I'm still waiting for my stock set to show up.
I ordered mine unfinished w/o butt plate, & I'm hoping that the area for the barrel band is
left proud. Yeah, like that's gonna happen!
:jerkit::bangHead::bsFlag:f:P:

Looks like I may have to order up another Boyd's butt stock......Fook me!

Mine is terrible... I could have done a better job in jr. high industrial arts.

This guy is getting his name dragged thru the mud on this... I am thoroughly disgusted.

Also, he scratched the #### out of my reciever. This gun was 2 weeks old when I sent it to him.

I'm fcukin choked... Not just because I got taken, but because I led others to the same fate too.

And no, I am not even gonna bother calling & complaining to Opuntia Lake Sports / Rich McCrea / forum member "RR"...

* and BTW, that bullsh!t excuse about having to recut all the buttstocks because they were twisted... See the last pic.

** just noticed there's lots of play in the butt-stock where it attaches to the tang. Just fcking lovely...

1) looks good from 5ft away

2) improper fitting, doesn't line up (pic doesn't show the scratch/blemish on the grip)

3) gap & lack of retaining "tabs" on stock tjat sleeve into reciever (also some of the new "custom" scratches on frame & grip)

4) improper barrel band fitment, and complimentary crack in the laminate.

5) the crooked/twisted stock that was supposed to have been fixed...

Well, you win some and you lose some. These are horrific and I'd definitely post pics of a set on fire.

Yes, it sucks to lose $150+ (I know what that's like), but the real shame here is the time spent waiting for them. Ouch.
I feel for you guys.

So how many of you have received yours? I am still waiting on mine. Now that I see some of the pictures I am not sure I want to receive it. But I can always use more firewood.

Before you roast weenies... Check to see if you can fix it yourself... You can glue/clamp/sand the forend under the barrel band... Chop the butt stock square at the tang and extend the inletting a smidge and maybe straighten up the angle... It looks like you have a better chance of fixing it than the guy had in making it. I got a really bad Richard's Micro Fit stock one time... It took six months but I got a replacement that was not good but workable with a lot of elbow grease. Bummer Trev!

Holy f*#k Boomer, I feel for ya man, and all the rest of us guy's that ordered
stocks from this guy. What a fvcking joke!

The rest of this rant is removed. See my latest post for info.

Been following this thread. Sounded promising to have matching wood front and rear. After seeing the results, the other options were a better choice. Maybe the susequent ones will show improvement. Could always make a nice table lamp. Sad to see though.

You all act so surprised. Did you honestly expect a quality product after all the bs you were fed about why it was taking so long?

boomer, from looking at that twisted piece of lumber they claim is a "stock" can it be salvaged? Can you inlet it to the point that it will work?

Anyone try getting a refund from Rich? Not sure I care to keep waiting if that is whats coming in the mail...
